Re: FS: 949 Wheels/Hoosier Tires

Sean, Please measure the back space of the rim to hub mounting surface. They might fit for my BMW. Thank you. David Barrish David, Use my lower chart (from Doug's Scirocco parts book) to calculate back spacing from offset. The upper chart shows the VW A1 wheel numbers. It looks like 8" with ET...

Move from CS to DS (2487, 4744): Mini Cooper S JCW (2006-’11) Mini Clubman S JCW (2009-’11) They'll definitely be getting a letter from me on this one. Can't imagine I'll be the only one. Seems pretty ludicrous if it's better suspended, has more power and has always run in a higher class than the r...

Re: SCCA Solo Class Article/Discussion

We could do what both Doug and Bob describe above, but then what do we do with the other 100 or so drivers we turn away? That's not customer oriented to me. Comparing our championship events to their practices plus a few competition runs is meaningless because they limit entries. The fact that our ...

Re: SCCA Solo Class Article/Discussion

As far as trying to correlate reasons as to why Stock numbers may be down to why people run ST, I doubt the majority of ST class drivers would directly state it is specifically because they want to run on street tires. Stock: I think it is because of the stock class scramble and the economic down t...

Looking at this year's points for SCCA classes v.s. PAX or local classes you can see ST is the largest set of classes by far.

PAX SK 24
PAX HIST 10

Re: SCCA Solo Class Article/Discussion

I don't like 4 runs on Solo Sunday. I like just 3, but I am kind of on the sport side of the argument as a driver. The last time I went to SV the drivers got 25-30 runs and quit early (3:30). I was teaching not driving. They had several young drivers in stock cars. It was fun to see all the smiles. ...

Re: SCCA Solo Class Article/Discussion

This is a complicated problem. SCCA has made it more frustrating for younger drivers with stock cars to get in the sport or stick with it. Tires are one issue but car classing changes frustrates people when they get pushed out of the game. Your SK PAX is greatly altered with class changes as well as...

Re: Pointers/Directional Cones

Okay, a decision has been made. I agree with it. But I'd like to discuss what we can learn from this. And if we need to define things better in our supps. I have some friends that have grumbled a bit about this one offline. Jon stopped at the missing directional, but didn't point it out or otherwis...

Re: Pointers/Directional Cones

I've seen the video of the run. The pointer next to the standing cone was missing, but another two pointer cones were present, thus making the pointer cone look like it was out of the box.. He should get a rerun - it looked really weird. I think you wanted to say ---- > thus making the APEX cone lo...

Re: Pointers/Directional Cones

OK folks... A driver sees that the pointer cone (first of three) on an apex cone is missing and stops for it The car before the driver in question picked up one cone and took it (details not important). It looks like the corner worker replaced the standing apex cone but did not have a cone to put in...

Re: March El Toro Event Replay

Some outstanding issues from the March 20th event: 1) We are evaluating a provisional re-run. (ST CLASS) 2) We need to have a pre-event check off sheet (fire bottles, extra cones and red flags on course before 8:00 AM etc... ) 3) Temporary Membership forms (filled out and blank) need to be in a defi...

Re: March El Toro Event Replay

I want to thank EVERYONE for putting on events over the last 25 plus years. The March weekend was literally a 4 ring circus between the EVO school, the skid pad, the kart course and the main course. To make things interesting we had some humidity, wind and even some hail. We had a few cars break thi...

FYI,
When you arrive at El Toro use the same main gate we use all the time (near the balloon). as you drive toward our event we may have you use a different turn off from the accesses road on Saturday and Sunday. Keep your eyes open for a sign as you drive in.

Re: Evo Schools at El Toro - March 19 & 20

You should pack an umbrella and you can use it when you are not working. We may have to make a safety call on umbrellas when working so try to bring hoods so you don't need an umbrella. I don't like it when people run with umbrellas and slip. Don't hit cars with your umbrella in grid or paddock. Don...
