Been it storage, but they still gave off enough rubber fumes to give me a headache in the car today. :D So they must be good!

Re: Wheel Width v. Tire Question

Hey Jake, Others may chime in with more info, but here's my take. A 17x9 with a 245/40 will be more responsive, and have at least as much grip. If you are rolling the tire over, you probably need more neg camber. Plus angling the struts inward will give you more tire to fender clearance. Your front ...

Hi Arthur,
C1-C3 corvettes and Cobras are included in CAM-S.
Although, IMO CAM-S should be C4-C7, Vipers and Cobras. And C1-C3 corvettes should be in CAM-T.

Re: 2015 Classes

CAM-S looks like it was built around the Cobra. The Lexan rule sounds like it came about from the "racecar" C2 corvette that did well at nats. Both cars were under the 2014 3,000 lb limit, also read the C2 runs 9's in the 1/4. Now the weight limit was dropped 400 lbs to accommodate...

Mark D. is the owner of the 350Z, should be STU unless he runs PAX. The Moons, Tin and myself may also race in the class.

Re: 2001 BMW 525i wagon- should I buy it?

Hi Kevin, We have a 2001 325IT Sportwagon with the same engine with more miles. The car has been very reliable. Engine, autotrans, suspension and interior have held up well. That said, german cars do need more care than a Honda or Toyota, and there are typical BMW issues you should be aware of. Ther...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Intake duct, canards and non-factory front splitter are technically illegal. Maybe ok to run it like that at regional event, if your competitors are ok with it.
Fun car, good luck.

Rick

Edit: Noticed that the Varis pic was probably only to show the intake, so disregard the canards comment. :)

Re: Tire Mounting needed at El Toro Pro

Hi, i need to get a set of tires mounted on Friday. Is there a tire mounter that I can use close by the site? We can do the mounting if there is a machine available, but the wheels are on the car right now. If not, is there a shop close by that can do it? I use Action Tire in Mission Viejo. About 6...

Re: CAM in San Diego.

I think David means CAM at the SD Tour? NorCal has some of the fastest ProTouring cars and drivers in the country. Some are/were top CM and SP cars. One national champion's car is pushing 850hp. I read Mary's car now has active aero, probably 500+hp, and is in the GT6 game. :) These cars are many se...

...I wonder how much faster Hobaugh is in his Vette vs. his Camaro all things being equal (track surface, layout, tires) I read that Brian Hobaugh thought his Camaro was faster, except on super tight courses. Good Guys events are super small and tight, they shoot for 35mph, instead of our 60mph. He...

Re: CAM Class Added

Whats the magic date? '71? '74? '78? Seems like you want to keep out the C4 Corvette and the 3rd gen Camaro… What about the fox body Mustang? Or just eliminate anything that came from the factory with ABS? The rule set was based on the Good Guys events, which have a '72 limit. I think '77? would be...

Nice!
We may want to put a year limit at some time, like the SD region uses. Maybe we can get some of their CAM folks to run up here also.

Hi John, Welcome, the more the merrier. :) Unfortunately, passengers are not allowed under 12 years old. We probably will have a jr kart practice course set up on Sat. You are welcome to bring Brett over to check it out, and see if he fits in any of the karts. A karting parent may let him try it out...

I run Prestone's NASCAR coolant. No antifreeze in it, just add to distilled water.

The FD RX7 guys used Evans, due to the low pressure aspect not causing the cooling system to blow up.
