Try a Sonoran Dog. And they still have Coke in a bottle. But you might need Cholo attire.

Re: First Job

I've been craving a good hot dog for like 8 months. What's a good place to get one? There's always a big fight about which is best, but they're all in LA anyway. I think Dodger Dogs are it. But surprisingly what keeps popping up on 'best of..' lists is Costco - they serve a pretty good dog. At leas...

Re: First Job

At age 10 I went to work for my dad on his land survey crew (his second job), for $0.50/hr on summer evenings and year-round on weekends. I was part of the crew for the next 8 years but during that time I was also a hot dog vendor at high school events, a lawn care "specialist" (I mowed la...

Re: The Emporer Has No Clothes

I think this is worth noting.... Arch-conservative Bay Buchanan suggested that it may not matter what McCain does. Writing in Human Events on June 4, she declared: In reality there is only one candidate. Barack Obama. In November he will win or he will lose. John McCain is relevant only in so far as...

Re: Non racin' summer plans

Nine-day business trip to Tucson I used to live in Tucson. I know almost everyone won't agree with me, but Tucson is the last great cowboy town in America. On the surface it's a dead-end desert town on the edge of the planet. Underneath it's the center of cowboy/western culture. The Sonora desert i...

Re: Who was your first AutoX instructor?

I remember a lot of people helping me from the beginning, but I'm pretty sure Renee was the first to ride with me as an "official" instructor. I got yelled at about my hands which were slapped several times. I drove the NSX back then and no one seemed to be able to drive it, including me. ...

Re: Ca Speedway Riddle

As a kid I never wore socks in the summer with shoes. One time I put on my runners and started playing basketball in the driveway. After about 4 or 5 major sharp and nearly debilitating pains in my right foot I kicked off my shoe to see what the problem was. Out crawled a fairly large scorpion from ...

Could Hi Def Racing be on hand to document? We're in negotiations with Curt right now to deal with some <cough> issues<cough> and we have yet to secure ancillary rights as well as overseas residuals for all equity members. If we could increase the front end loading of the deal while reducing the ba...

I'd rather buy her some jewelry than watch that crap.
2 Tylenol PM with the diet coke and it's over before you know it. And in these economic times, still cheaper than jewelry, which is a good thing. It's all about the budget.

Ya know, I'm thinking the 2 hour investment might have some pretty significant returns later on. Call me crazy but I gotta think it's like money in the bank.... so to speak.

Re: Dude! Where's my recession?

Read GDP growth year over year I find this interesting. Can anyone explain why things are getting dramatically worse then? With gas at now well over $4/gal and diesel at $5, the housing crash, etc, how can GDP be on an up swing? I can find no where on the net anything about business getting better ...

Yeah, I, too, noticed that Leonard was working a full time job this weekend. That has to be a plus for the overall club. Also, speaking of going over and beyond, Ron Tsumura covered about half of the course as a worker on Sat. running about a quarter mile for every cone. There should be an award for...
