Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Maybe I missed it but I don't see an Ecoboost Performance Package Mustang listed. The base car is DS, but in Mustang and Camaro lines, the "track" option cars are typically classed higher than base model. An exception is the 1LE Turbo4 Camaro, but that exception is specifically listed in t...

Re: Tire pumps tested. Harbor freight is a winner

That guy is a testing fool -- check his video collection...I can spend hours watching that site. That selection of electric pumps is what you'd call cheapies. The medium-price pumps cost $60 to $100 but are MUCH more capable. Search for terms like Q-Industries, SuperFlow, and MasterFlow. Those pumps...

Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA

Odd...I don't remember that. Bakersfield is relatively close and I went to nearly all their events back when they were active. I only remember racing at the city college and Fomosa Drag Raceway.

But there's lotsa things I don't remember so well anymore. :)

WTB NA Miata Rear Swaybar

For now just a stocker with all the hardware. Since I don't know yet what I need, it doesn't matter much where I start. :)

But a lot of people end up at 14mm, so that would be good.

Eric, if it turns out you need more water than you brought, I'll have a tank full in the camper. And I'm running last, so I'll be there. -- Bill

Re: Potential CoDrive Request, for a friend

Way back when we used to have a club car which we used for class winner run-offs, seniors and similar.

Maybe now we need a club car for those curbed by the sound meter. :)

Re: Aug. 3-4, 2019 Santa Anita Park Event

Bill- I'm assuming we will enter from Huntington Drive and Holly Ave. Not official, but seems obvious. I think the region is looking for somebody to camp overnight next to the timing vehicle. Our street doesn't have much room after I fill it up. Great -- hereby applying for job as night security gu...

Re: Aug. 3-4, 2019 Santa Anita Park Event

In todays, driving lesson for teen Robert we drove all around Santa Anita and parked for a bit to look out over the lot. It's going to be so sweet! And 7 minutes to my house. But damn that church and convalescence home and houses are close! Is there a certain way we need to enter or are all the gat...

Re: Aug. 3-4, 2019 Santa Anita Park Event

I hope member focus is not just on how to "pass sound" on our sound meter, it should how to help us secure this new site by not pissing off folks in the neighborhood (especially in morning when they might be trying to sleep in) That's a good point. IIRC San Diego ran stockers early and mo...

Re: Aug. 3-4, 2019 Santa Anita Park Event

I'm sure many of us have had experience with the sound control program at San Diego. Of concern is the odd ball event where a dozen cars break over the limit which had never been even on the edge. It happened to me. 88-89dB event after event and then sent home one day for being over 95. Along with s...

Re: shaken, not stirred.... how are, our friends at ground zero?

Sorry for late reply and thanks for asking. Internet was down until earlier today. Personally, we're in great shape. No damage of any sort. Not even stucco cracks. Just occasional junk which was piled on top of things obeying the law of gravity. I figure we got by easy because I'm built on slope of ...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

What tires? Cal Club regional classes CSM and CST are unrestricted except the cars must be "capable" of being street licensed. That means windshield, wipers, lights, probably bumpers. Whatever the CHP might pull you over for. CSM (not popular) uses Hoosiers and other DOT "race tires&q...

Re: Introduction

Consider if you buy one now it will be a Snell 2015. Wait until the Snell 2020s come out and it will have a 5 year longer life.
Kinda depends on if your current one is suitable and safe for the remainder of the year.

Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA

Or that could work against you if you're talking about a Fresno regional event. Double the price on people, even for more seat time, perhaps you lose a lot of them. And the numbers are small to begin with. Or are you suggesting the practice part is a separate entry and the $85 is in addition to the ...

Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA

IIRC, Las Vegas region has a few choices for event sites and the better ones exceed the anticipated revenue. I think they elect to do a mix of sites such that they bank some money at the cheaper sites in order to operate at a loss on their preferred Speedway sites. Maybe that model would work for Fr...

Re: Anybody have a line on a water truck for our Street Survival School?

The large watertruck will heavily spray a rallyX course perhaps 1.5 laps. The courses are similar in length to our typical autocross. That should give you some idea of how many laps of a skid pad it can do. Some sites have overhead water available. Otherwise, the trucks come with fire hoses that can...

Re: Anybody have a line on a water truck for our Street Survival School?

For RallyX we use Ahern Rentals which has a yard just east of the Speedway.

When they were out of the standard ones once, they offered us a smaller one. Maybe that would save some money?
