Re: SoCal Tour and Pro
I have a lot of ideas for the San Diego lot in regards to course design. The lot has it's restrictions it's just many of the course designers don't spend the time to try something new as it will take to long to figure out. Most of the courses are setup the same because of the ease of repeating said...

Re: SoCal Tour and Pro
Oh, I agree. I don't think most people in San Diego really appreciate the lot. It has many positives. It is centrally located and not in a bad part of town. Close enough to the beach to not get too hot. Easily reached by trolley for travelers. Lots of other things to do and see in San Diego. Easy to...

Re: SoCal Tour and Pro
There are certain things you could do on the west lot at Qualcomm, but if you did them, other people would bitch about the way the course flowed, lack of certain elements, etc. The reality is, with the shape, position of the hard obstacles, the drainage ditch, SCCA restrictions and safety issues, an...

I didn't run Lemoore until (I think) 1996 at a Pro there. Wonderful site. A small pain getting on due to the restrictions, but a great surface to run on.

Why? We have some curmudgeons that tend to see conspiracy when they look for it, and I am (was) the source of all evil in San Diego. Well, assuming you think karts are evil.

Re: 2010 TireRack Solo National Championships - Sep 7th-10th
BTW, I can't prove it's a good idea, and many will disagree. But because, as you said, we go thru an enormous number of wheel changes compared to the typical road car, I have for several years under-torqued the lug nuts. Torque involves stretching the studs each time and that makes me nervous. Have...

ChaseCam systems tested by NASA to 100Gs
NASA selected ChaseCam as the most rugged video recorder on the market. They then tested the systems to near 100gs of shock. They are still using those same systems for repeated rocket drop testing. We already knew it would survive as we are often crash tested at the track and we continue to record ...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?
Another idea may be to decrease the width of the platform and lay the chassis directly on it, allowing the tires to stick down on both sides. Me, I like using the kart's tires and shock absorbers... but perhaps the shock and vib is not really that bad on the trailer.

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?
Keep a grease gun handy before trips (or during very long ones). Check the caps and the lube before trips. Maybe squeeze a bit extra in. Make it part of your routine when trailering. Check tires for cracking wear. Check pressures. Check your straps to be tight. Make sure nothing is moving around. Ch...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?
I really appreciate it Randy. I think I'm going to get the trailer today so I'll start looking into making a platform as I really don't want to half-ass something as important as the kart. And my car does unfortunately have separate brake and turn signal wires so it will require more than a plug-in...
