Re: Determining max number of cars on course

Well, in general, 20 seconds works, but course design can effect that. If we are getting a lot of cone calls, or are light on workers, we often have to slow it down or we get too many reruns if workers don't have enough time to get cones back up. Of course the starter has to adjust for individual ca...

Re: Where/when to register for May 14-15?

I have not yet joined an event with Cal Club. The event calendar shows an event May 14-15. When I go to the Newcomer page, it takes me to motorsportsreg for registration, but there are no events listed there (except reserving numbers). Is the registration just not posted yet? When/where would I reg...

Re: XEV/XS Rules

I'd like to make some clarifications here. First of all, Rick Brown is wrong in that a board member was the one who filed the protest. Jacob Abrams was the who submitted the protest, first verbally while at the event to me, and then thru email, which was sent to me and then I forwarded to the board...

Re: XEV/XS Rules

My beef is with the break down (again) of the rules making process. Consider protesting the Board. Not sure what that actually means. If you read the SuppRegs, you can only protest vehicles for classification, or the event itself. No question rules making procedures were not followed. Propose a rul...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Welcome Gabreil, Looks like DS (D Street) for you. Assuming you are staying on stock (or stock size) rims, you have to run on 200 tread wear or greater tires. I'll let someone with more knowledge on tires recommend what might be your best choice. We have events this coming weekend at AutoClub Speedw...

Per our Supp regs:
CSM (same as National SSM) 0.883 for 2022
CST (CSM index x .980) so .865 for 2022

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Coming from St Louis SCCA where I last raced in 2020 (2011 BMW M3 coupe that was FS). At the time there were rumors the E92s might get classed differently. I haven't seen the 2022 classing rules yet = am I still FS? Another question = do y'all allow 3 driver car? My son and I co drive men FS and my...

Re: CST and Extreme Street Classes 2022

Thanks for the info. Can you use these indexes to run in PAX? No, our PAX class is specifically for SCCA National classes only, no provisional classes or local classes. Just to double check, if I wanted to run a modified electric vehicle, I can do so with XEV but this will follow the rules of CST r...

CST and Extreme Street Classes 2022

In response to requests for changes to local classing for CST, XA, and XB, plus electric vehicles, the following was approved by the Board for 2022: - CST will remain in place. There was not a clear majority for eliminating CST in favor of XS classes. - A new class of XEV (Extreme Street Electric) h...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Hi Jack, welcome to the group. Your car would be in F Street (FS). You also have the option of running in Novice class with other new people. This is an indexed class with times modified based on your regular class, but you run at the same time as other FS cars. Note that we have instruction availab...

Re: 2021 Car Classing

If you are selecting Novice class, select CAM-C as your index. Tires are fine. Quite a few in CAM-C, even though in Novice, you run with the rest of the CAM cars. Lots of friendly people and lots of advice available, some of it even good, LOL. Despite my avatar, I co-drive in a Camaro in CAM-C.

Re: Alternate Sites?

I'll be running there for their next 2 events. I checked it out when it was first built, it did seem small, but grid and pits are across the street in the stadium lot. I think we would have to enforce sound limitations, there is housing right next to the lot now.

Re: Photo of the inside of the CTV

There is a definite issue with all the cones on one side, nothing to balance it out. Too much weight in one spot (plus the weight of the generator right underneath them), the lean of the RV has gotten excessive. Thinking of reducing the width of the shelves on the passenger side to allow 2 by 2 stac...
