Re: Computer question for our Gurus

Depending on what you want to do, you might be able to get away with a go-to-my-pc type service which will let you remote control your pc from the 'net. For more comprehensive connection to the network, you will need a VPN endpoint router at the office. I do this into my house so I can access everyt...

Re: STX E36 question

it was easy to overpower the tires on corner exit, where the 325 just trucked along smoothly. If only there were some type of "throttling" device that would allow you to reduce the power output when necessary while still allowing greater power to be delivered when it could be applied........

Re: anyone know of this?

In a few years when all new cars suck for motorsports (mandatory, non-defeatable stability control, etc), I think there will be a huge market for fun little racing toys like this. Tow it behind your everyday car, store and work on within one space in your garage, easy non-production-car maintenance.

Re: Farmington Pro

I know that some day, I'll get pulled driving the Odyssey towing the kart rig @65mph. I get passed continuously at 65; at 55, I'm a hazardous obstruction holding up a long line of cars that are bailing out on both sides into traffic coming up behind them. I figure it's going to be a "basic spee...

Re: Are my tires toast?

I don't think it's fair to say that outer edge tire wear indicates improper driving technique, as you're not so subtly implying. It indicates a lack of camber. I think it's quite fair to consider that a new autocrosser is overdriving their tires. Better to not-so-subtly imply that it's their drivin...

One of the main reasons these are the way they are, especially when syncing was by hand-taping lengths of film and tape together!

I checked out the D mod rules last night,(up till 3 AM), looks like my car doesn't meet the safety related requirements, (about 6 items). It is a street car after all. I will not put a roll bar in it, for weight reasons; I just bought a 950$ Lithium-Ion starter battery, (3 pounds), On my quest for ...

I drove your HS Civic solo to Topeka non-stop with the exception of a 2-hour nap at 2am in a rest area in Vail (and of course, gas and food stops). Spending $70 for a few hours sleep at a motel didn't make sense. When I sell my Civic, I'm keeping the seats - best seats I've ever had in a car (for ge...

One comment on your video, though - in the future, no hand-held cameras for either your passengers or you during your run, please. It's a safety issue. The last thing you want is for that camera to become a projectile and hit you, your passenger, or a course worker. Thanks. I always thought this wa...

Re: Hard Drive Recovery

If you get desperate, blow cold air on the drive electronics while it runs, if you can. The colder the better. Past that, put the drive in a sealed bag in the refrigerator for a while. Once it's completely cold, immediately plug it into the PC and try your file copy. Being able to plug it into a USB...
