Re: Everybody - Please read - Club consolidation

80% or in the new by-laws 4 out of 5 is for expulsion of a board member. That's not something to be taken lightly and requires more than a simple majority. To be clear...I wasn't advocating a simple majority in all things. Just that the current minimum numbers seemed ill matched to the new system.

Re: Everybody - Please read - Club consolidation

So glancing through the bylaws -- I assume there are only five votes, unless I've missed something. Given that, all the various minimums seem pretty awkward. 50% for one thing, 80% for another, 2/3 for something else. Jeez, there's only five votes. Do those numbers really make sense now? On another ...

I'm not seeing a practice entry list. With so many heading north I assume if we entered, we're in?

Re: The March Events Are Now Open For Registration

Well my registration got messed up. But it may have been coincidental to these changes.

EDIT -- it somehow got resolved. Maybe a problem between my computer and MSR.

Re: Call for Stories/Info on the History of CSCC

Plus Cypress College, Saddleback College, the Shelby parking lot, College of the Canyons, and Cal Poly Pomona. And of course Lion Country Safari (Verizon Amphitheater). All of those lots except Lion Country would not be SCCA legal these days due to size and obstacles. Many many more. My first event...

Yeah, I think so too Steve, but TireRack says no such animal and no such plans. I think the word just hasn't dropped down to the troops yet.

Rival S

What's the latest on the Rival S? Seems like Grassroots had tested a new 225/45-15 months ago and it was to go on sale late this year. How do I tell the new upgrade compound tire from the existing one? TireRack people seem not to know much about the new version.

Re: Gas too old?

My rallycross Sentra sat out a season and would hardly run due to varnished injectors. Fix was high concentration of Berryman Chemtool (a cleaning solvent), then dump the gas, then fresh gas with recommended concentration of Chemtool. All better.

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

These are just generic comments: 1. When advising people on CSM/CST, people are using different treadwear requirements. Unless CSCC changed the rule when I wasn't looking, the break is at 140 not 200. 2. New posters coming here for initial recommendations -- not clear if they're CalClubers or from e...

Re: Apr 15-17 West Coast RallyCross National Chall, Ridgecre

Heh...I'm actually back to the Sentra. I ran it a few years in stock class and then moved on to AWD. But I wasn't able to sell the Sentra and it was such a hoot I did a little wrenching on it and it's back for Prepared Front now. Took it to Glen Helen a couple weeks ago, but it had not aged well dur...

Re: Apr 15-17 West Coast RallyCross National Chall, Ridgecre

Jay, I haven't done rallycross in a long time and so I forget, can people co-drive a car and how does that work? Is it like autocross with a multidriver grid section? To answer the specifics of your question, yes, it is somewhat like in autox. The grid guy will position the multidriver car in an ou...

CAM in California

Is the CAM "licensed and insured" rule interpreted as a genuine requirement with actual smog compliance? Or is it winked at as long as you can somehow obtain tags?

Re: How does the year end standings / trophies work?

Inexplicably, San Diego has somehow become much further away than in the past and I no longer attend regularly. I won't be in a SD club in 2016. Can I still renew my card for $10 with no club in case I do want to come down occasionally?

Re: "Stock", are these legal?

The rules say you're allowed "supporting hardware". After that it becomes interpretive. I would classify the blocks as supporting hardware, because what else are they good for? You might disagree. But note the rules go on to specifically ban lateral links between the mounts. IE, they speci...

Re: passengers at practices/events

February meeting the club reps voted to allow passengers without any novice requirement. So open passengers. Of course, passengers may not later compete after previewing the course.... As starter, I had to ask what the latest passenger rules were, and the above agrees with what I was told by the po...
