Re: Data acquisition recommendations
The majority of us collecting data use Solostorm but we all have various camera setups. Personally I think a center mount camera in the cockpit is adequate for reviewing your runs and comparing them to the data. As for the GPS hardware, I'm running Racecapture on our FRS and it was a PITA to get wor...

Re: Supplementary Classes in Local PAX Class
I'm sorry if my posts come across harshly but we have formal processes defined in the by laws (as you quoted above) that should be followed and they are clearly not being followed. As best as I can tell the 2019 CAM/PAX proposal did mostly follow the by laws (emergency change process) with actual s...

Re: Supplementary Classes in Local PAX Class
What we are doing is getting our affairs in order! Currently we have a ruleset (i.e. Supps) that should be mandating how we run our championships. What we haven't done well is publish the results of our meetings, perhaps we need to start publishing the minutes in the open. Rules wise we need to eith...

Supplementary Classes in Local PAX Class
To all Cal Club Autocross Competitors, At the end of the 2020 season the Cal Club e-board voted to offer the newly designated Xtreme Street (XS) classes at our events. Xtreme Street is considered a supplementary class by the SCCA National Office and is not eligible for a Solo National Championship. ...

1/16-1/17 Course Setup
Hey Everybody! I'd like three helpers for course set up Friday. Current plan is to start setup around noon. I'd also like two more volunteers for the afternoon change over. Let me know if you'd like to help out! This will count as your work assignment for the next day. Friday AM: 1) Chad Ryker 2) Ra...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
I hope I am posting this in the correct place. If not please let me know and I will move....... I recently ran an autocross track day at BRP with Omega Motorsports Events. I had a blast and thought I should try something a bit more......... well, more. So I joined SCCA and Cal Club and I am hoping ...

Re: JDP Driving Program, Year 2 with no events?
Considering the SCCA needs money upfront to keep things running it makes sense that they would want members to keep their subscriptions current. However for the new generation of SCCA members (myself and the other pesky millennials), membership tenure doesn't really mean a lot. Value for money is go...

Re: JDP Driving Program, Year 2 with no events?
It's worth a shot but I wouldn't expect the SCCA to discount memberships for juniors when the program is clearly on hold. Your SCCA membership is not exclusive to just autocross and you're free to not renew until the day before an event. Personally I just wouldn't renew until I knew there are events...

Re: Guidance Going Into 2nd Event
Hey Chad, one of the biggest things that will help newcomers is to take part in the novice course walks we offer in the morning. Having someone guide you through your morning walk can be a huge help in getting you prepared to drive the course at speed. Also, be sure to take advantage of our instruct...

So let me try this again. Why does it say that the JA can return on the SCCA website ? Are they WRONG ? Again this is straight from there website . Did you read what I posted ? I'll call tomorrow . Straight from the SCCA website, maybe you're not seeing the banner on mobile? The statement "Eac...

Re: 2021 Event Schedule
Is the current Board working on our 2021 Schedule? The Long Beach Grand Prix is scheduled for April 18th next year. We are kind of at the whim of the track management at this point in time. We'll see what happens in terms of availability and we'll try our best to fill a schedule that doesn't confli...

Hey Everybody! I'd like three helpers for course set up Friday. Ideally I'd like to smash it out earlier in the morning (probably starting at/around 7:00 am) to avoid the heat. I'd also like two more volunteers for the afternoon change over. Let me know if you'd like to help out! This will count as ...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
I am considering getting a Carbon fiber hood, would that move me from STU to street modified? By the rulebook yes that would make you a Street Mod car but seeing as you probably aren't going to suddenly buy Hoosiers and start cutting body panels I wouldn't worry about staying in STU (where your car...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
Good evening! Newcomer here, wanting to get started. I am reading and absorbing as much information as I can. My question... I have a BMW 320i xDrive. The 320 is listed in G street, what I wanted to know is if the AWD pushed into another class. I couldn't find anything that differentiated rear whee...

I have no clue what's happening at the head office with regards to the Pro Solo ... we should probably reach out to them and get them briefed on what hoops we're currently jumping through to rent the site.Marshall Grice wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 11:33 am is the no minor's policy going to apply to the pro solo?

Re: Tentative COVID-19 Guidelines Starting June 20th
Any updates to the registered participants only restriction? We submitted an updated guideline to ACS that tried to open up things for non-registered guests but were shot down. Currently, the wording we have awaiting approval is in line with NMCA's policy which allows one "Crew" member pe...

Re: Next event?
Not a bad idea Bill. At this point Buttonwillow in the summer may still attract enough people.
We could also look at renting out the skid/drift pad at Willow Springs as well. It's gonna be hot everywhere but I'm sure we can get some people to still come out.
