Re: Next event?
Does anyone live close enough to AAA to have a look at "our" lot? With everything starting to open back up, maybe we can have the June event??? Have we been in touch with AAA? Thanks, Jason We are in touch with them, they are still withholding dates last I talked to Stephen. One of our me...

Re: Next event?
ps. I emailed the Fontana mayor to ask her when we might expect similar relaxation in Fontana. Thanks for starting that inquiry Jason. Hopefully we can get some clarification from the city and then we can start to re-engage with the Speedway to see if they are ready to let us back in as well. No mo...

Awesome! Thank you for the kind and complete response. I may do the competition runs alone and then see how things go The big upside to doing the Saturday Practice event is that you will have the opportunity to ride in other people's cars which can go a long way in terms of improving your own drivi...

Re: Extreme street, should it replace CST?
I'm definitely leaning towards using the XS classes and running one indexed class of XS-A and XS-B together. How much does your car weigh Jacob? I think your setup is literally the perfect example of why XS class exists. A sweet ride, not built exclusively for solo, but for the owners enjoyment at ...

Re: Historic 1 Proposed Rules change.
With so many options, I wonder if bringing in more participants first would help shape the class. As Sean mentioned on the call, we have in the past, broken out an individual class from an index class once there is sufficient participation. Once people are racing heads up, the pax thing becomes a n...

Re: Historic 1 Proposed Rules change.
I'll re-word here what I tried to explain on the call last night. The PAX for the Historic classes (all of them) should not be tailored to make them competitive with the official PAX classes given to us by the SCCA. The PAX is calculated yearly to make competition "fair" for drivers who bu...

Re: Historic 1 Proposed Rules change.
This seems to have gotten way too complicated for a local class. Looks like Doug's #5 option makes the most sense to me. Keep HIST1 & 2 as is with the addition of cars in Brian's post. If someone want's to run a non-SCCA classed car, use CST or CSM (actually has always been available on MSR, th...

Re: 2/8/20 SCCA Video
I prefer the video on the side even if it's 'lopsided' because you get a true picture of how close you are to the cones. The in car view is misleading - it's hard to tell if you are actually close to key apex cones. The line has limited benefit if you are missing your marks. Stephen, I understand y...

EV-x is listed as an exhibition class for now in the Pro Solo index. I think the intent will be for EV-x to be the "mod" class for EV's.

Re: Extreme street, should it replace CST?
A survey will be sent out to CST competitors first. It seems like it comes down to two questions. 1) Do you want XA XB to replace CST? 2) Do you want them combined on index or separate? Also, does anyone know of any cars prepared in excess of those rules that currently competes in CST? Supps change...

Yeah I'm really digging this idea. I think we have plenty of interest and from our preliminary research it can be cost-effective for the club. Hopefully we'll have some more concrete news for the community in the coming days as we get plans in motion.

Re: Miata NC3 Engine Swaped NC1 legal in CS?
The reason behind that (as I understand it) was to avoid people making Franken-stock cars that took the best bits of different model years. For example, an S2000 with the 2nd-gen engine (more displacement = more torques) plus the 1st-gen transmission (~6-7+ mph faster 2nd gear) would be an absolute ...

Re: Video and data review for the November event.
Indeed Reed. Only after I had trouble braking did I start to watch other cars on the course. It turns out, if your tires are not on the ground, they dont grip well. The big thing I worked with on people who asked for ride along's was fighting the urge to attack the corner entry and instead look to ...

Re: Video and data review for the November event.
I felt like this course really rewarded getting your braking done early and committing to powering out of the corners. The straights seemed to provide big payoffs if you could get on the gas early and ride the speed all the way through the fast sections. I was really struggling to put the power down...

We had a couple of Conefests at Buttonwillow on the East loop while PapaCalClub hosted the Drivers School on the West Loop. We BBQ'd for all and had a great Saturday night party. One of the events we featured in SportsCar and we even won an award for the event. But two things stopped us. First, our...

This definitely seems like a fun idea for us to hold a non-points event during the cooler months. If we could set it up to run during a SCCA race weekend I'm sure we could get a great deal on the track rental from Papa Cal Club! We could advertise to the Fresno region as well to help boost our atten...

The Fiesta ST in its stock-ish form is in HS (16x7 wheels, non-lowered suspension, etc.). However pretty much any o...
