Re: Aug. 3-4, 2019 Santa Anita Park Event
And here I just finished cutting my muffler off because I'm not loud enough for CAM class...
only joking, for now.
But, whats the situation with trailers? Will we be able to leave one overnight? Is it wise to even think about doing that?

Re: Which tires to get? BFG or Bridgestone
Whatever tires I get will be mounted on 19x11 wheels. I'll be getting them in 305/30/19. I'm seriously considering the BFG because I have heard they take heat better. Although I read yesterday that Goodyear will be producing the Supercar 3 in a bunch of new sizes. They will have a 305/30/19 also. I ...

Which tires to get? BFG or Bridgestone
I was going to get Bridgestone RE71R tires for my car but BFG has recently released a Rival S 1.5 in 305/30/19. I know Paul Molina has been testing them against the RE71 on his mustang. I'm waiting a little to see some of his results but I thought I'd ask others too. The price difference is about $1...

Re: Anyone have E-Track experience for load tiedown?
I've used it before but wasn't sure if there were different rated tracks depending on use. I found some stull on Amazon with a 6000lb load rating, so I'll use that.

Anyone have E-Track experience for load tiedown?
Who here has had experience with using E-Track to tie a car down to a trailer? I'd like to add E-Track to my trailer to tie the Camaro down but I have no experience with this system. Is all E-track rated the same or is there different track for use in vehicle tie down?

Re: How a course takes shape
Thats a lot of prep. My last course was at Norton(wow, that was forever ago) and I had just put squiggly lines down on a paper and Craig drove the motorhome along those lines as I called out on the radio (to the two guys in the trailer) when to throw cones out. I remember Bill Schenker moaning after...

With my best ever PAXed results finish (11th, 0.031sec from being 10th), I'd say lets have rain again. But I'm not likely to make his event. Need to go see some extended family.

Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA
Has anyone contacted Kern County Raceway Part? The whole infield of the oval is paved. The area might be a bit small, I count 26 semi truck parking spots on the short side. But I think it would be similar to PIR Pro Pits that the Oregon Region used to run in, not sure if they still run at PIR.

I saw the Porsche Club running there years ago. This was after one of our events at Buttonwillow, so that gives you an idea how long. If I'm available I'll swing by there on the event day. My friend is only about 20 minutes from the airport.

Re: Kia Stinger GT AWD or RWD?
Ron, My friend is a Durability Engineer at Hatci (Hyundai's testing arm of the corp.) and ran the testing on both the Stinger and G70. When I asked him about the cars before I bought my 1LE, he specifically told me to wait for the G70 and do RWD if I was going to do any sort of performance driving. ...

Re: Troubleshooting Help
I did a quick search and the two most common suspects were a vacuum leak and the Idle Air Control(IAC) Valve. I'd inspect all the hoses you can find and replace any that could even suggest a leak. If it still acts up, make sure to clean the throttle body and the Idle circuit before trying a new IAC....

Re: Troubleshooting Help
oh, that's bad Rick. But yes, It sounds like a vacuum leak. I am going out on a limb here to say this is a MAP sensor car because MAF cars don't do this. My Omnis, yes I owned more than one- didn't learn the first time..., each had this problem when they had a vacuum leak. Another possibility, but l...

Re: Can I run Novice? Tire suggestions
Okay, I'll work with the Goodyears for now and look at options later. Who knows, maybe something good will come up. I hope I can make it out in October. I should have the fluids changed and the track alignment done by then. Who does good alignments these days if the dealer sucks, like they usually d...

Re: Can I run Novice? Tire suggestions
I'm pretty sure I could fit that tire size on the RX-7. I'd need a bit of Pats help. But yes, SS 1LE. Bone Stock except for the paint protection I had applied. I have a spare set of wheels coming and I have more normal street tires for non autocross/track day usage. Not looking to run Hoosier R7 tir...

Can I run Novice? Tire suggestions
Hello, Am I allowed to run Novice class? I haven't autocrossed in close to 10 years now. Looking at the new car classes..., my head hurts. Anyways, What I really need are tire recommendations. What is a good autocross/track day tire in a 285/30-20 F 305/30-20 R fitment. Or would I be okay to run a 2...

Re: LONE PINE TIME TRIALS- 2012
There is parking very close to the hotel if there isn't room on the street. As you come into town, there is an empty lot big enough for several semis then a smaller parking lot at the cafe next to the hotel.
