Re: Troubleshooting Help

I did a quick search and the two most common suspects were a vacuum leak and the Idle Air Control(IAC) Valve. I'd inspect all the hoses you can find and replace any that could even suggest a leak. If it still acts up, make sure to clean the throttle body and the Idle circuit before trying a new IAC...

Re: Troubleshooting Help

oh, that's bad Rick. But yes, It sounds like a vacuum leak. I am going out on a limb here to say this is a MAP sensor car because MAF cars don't do this. My Omnis, yes I owned more than one- didn't learn the first time..., each had this problem when they had a vacuum leak. Another possibility, but ...

Re: Troubleshooting Help

Yep, looks like a bad hose. Of course a unique shape, different size on each end. Working on a MickeyMouse fix till I can hopefully get the correct part.

I was going to say vacuum leak.

Troubleshooting Help

Strange thing happened with my car last night. It tried to kill me. Driving home late on Ortega Hwy, about 10 miles from home acts like wide open throttle, able to control for a while with brakes, but when started downhill, began to fade and jut managed to get off to side and shut down. Tried to coo...

Doubtful, I see 83 entries which I would think is the max with limited daylight, but contact Randy, he's the event chair.

It sounds like just a white rectangle with a black number on it, not cut out magnetic numbers, right? I can do that. Just need to know what size and quantity and I can give you a quote. I know there is online places, too. And what about Jason Woodruff?

I may be able to come out to set up timing & PA. Not too good at shagging cones anymore, but might be able to do some if needed.

Re: Proposed CST pax modifier adjustment

Edited yet again! The .882 index for CSM in our Supp Regs was from 2016's PAX for SSM. 98% of that is .864 so I understand the Supp Regs values and acknowledge they're incorrect. The 2018 PAX value for SSM is .871, so our Supp Regs and timing should reflect that as the CSM index, and 98% of that is...

Rick Brown to the white courtesy phone! Rick Brown... The reality is it's not really an issue, rarely happens and just a matter of noticing where the sun is and which way the light is aimed. If there is a potential issue, we simply swap the sensors at lunch time. We just forget sometimes. Or there'...

Re: Free trailer(s)

Matt has about 200 "Beat up" cones from us, a cooler or two and something else I can't recall. (I say "beat up" because they're pretty heavily scarred, but WAY better than what the RallyX people are using right now.) What's more interesting is WE have about 200-250 nearly new co...

Re: Free trailer(s)

I have takers for both trailers, so I'll be on site tomorrow to break them open and discard the contents. Ken Motonishi has graciously allowed us to use AMCI's dumpster for the disposal, so we don't have to order a dumpster to be delivered. If anyone is interested in helping, please let me know. My...

Re: PSCC/Morgan Plus 4 Event

On top of that, thank you Brian for being the Event Chair. I think we isolated the timing problems to a new condition. It was either low batteries in the finish lights or a bad angle for the receiving unit toward the sun, but once both of those were corrected the remaining runs were flawlessly time...

Re: Heritage Classic Street(HCS) Rim size, what's legal?

Per the 2016 HCS guide line: Wheel and Tire Allowances • Any metallic wheels are allowed. • Any DOT‐approved tires with a UTQG Treadwear Grade of 200 or higher are permitted. Tires must also meet other requirements in Section 13.3 of the Solo rules. I understand the +,- 1" of: 13.4 WHEELS Any ...

Re: CST Tire Treadwear Rules Change

Per Bob's proposal,"This would allow people that are doing track days with..." to get involved. The chance that they are going to run enough events to chase a jacket, not likely. So if they aren't worried about competing for a jacket, why not just run CSM? If they like what we do and want...

Idea: make the next years (aka 2019 this year's) points card available for sale once there are not enough events left to complete a current year (2018) points card... and throwing in the remainder of the 2018 season? Allow people getting started later in the season (there's a novice school next mon...

A favor, please cull out any really bad cones you come across while you are setting up. Need to reduce the amount of cones in the motor home. Thanks. How many are we trying to get rid of? Maybe I can help remove really bad cones & donate some marginal cones for local FSAE practice? :) At least ...

And a number of those viewers are likely board members like me, so it's covered. That being said, we are at the mercy of the lots we rent and don't always have as many choices as we would like.
