Brake myths and bed-in procedures - thoughts?

Just was digging through some brake related material (debating the next car for the fiancé, and got to thinking about brake mods). Saw this from StopTech...thought I'd pass it on. http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedinfaq.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; pretty good...

How about an M Coupe? OK, that probably blows the tire budget.

+ 1 for the m coupe! Friend if mine had a tweaked m roadster....WOW that was fun!

Re: Anyone have an open seat?

Hello everyone! I've already messaged a few people I'm linked up with on Facebook but for the record: I'm passing on this weekend. Please give my spot to someone who needs it for the practice. I've registered for the champ and if I can pull something off I'll do my best so I can at least score point...

Re: Anyone have an open seat?

I"ll keep you guys posted. I'm working out some details at home and will relay my final decision here. Some other priorities are being called to my attention and I may have to forfeit my weekend for those things since the car isn't up for it. :computer:

Re: Anyone have an open seat?

Hi Dan, I know you just ordered, but here's the trick for future reference: You're on the Mazdaspeed program, right? Order the complete, remanufactured caliper from Mazda. For your car, the part number for a complete, padless caliper (which includes the mounting bracket) would be something like NAY...

Re: Anyone have an open seat?

Dan, Im located in Oceanside. Jon, sounds good. Just a FyI but if you weren't planning on attending the practice I'd be glad to just drive on sunday and save you an extra trip up here. I appreciate the favor but would like to save you as much trouble as possible. I'd also be glad to play tire warme...

Re: Anyone have an open seat?

If you want to try to fix it by the weekend... A rear left caliper would be $81.40 + a $65.00 core charge. We could ship it directly to you and you would get it the next day. These are Centric rebuilt calipers. Also, I know the Mazdaspeed program will not refund the core charge, but we can if you s...

Re: Anyone have an open seat?

Hey there everyone, Had a bit of a snag this evening while working on the car that will take longer than the weekend to repair. Had a caliper seize to the slider pin on the left rear (e-brake, etc etc) and I won't likely get it fixed until after the event. I had that happen back in December...

Re: K1 Speed....Thursday night 4/22

What were your times? Leonard was in the very low 27's. I was the slowest in the high 27's. Don't know if Leonard ever got to the 26's or not. My fastest was a 27.1xx - it was the 11th fastest time for the week - this was in a cart that had almost no brakes. On our other two races, I had 27.2xx's i...

Re: Cougar Replacement

How about a Volkswagen GTI? Stephen Yeoh did pretty well in one in SK2 several years ago. I was actually going to suggest this same car for the same reason. Stephen used to give me and my friend in another Tom Berry sale (2001 miata w/suspension pack) headaches in sk2. Was a fun car to drive, I rem...

My idea was that he could potentially hire those college kids for free (this is what my boss @ my first job did - interns came from various colleges, I think the most popular one was Bryman; they got class credit for the summer). The interns still required quite a bit of our time training them &...

Re: C4 Corvette Tire & Rim Size

EVo school FTW. +4 on improving your skills first. It's almost free and while you're setting up options you can make the most of the tire you have left. Get In for more practices and ask questions on better line options, taking slaloms, etc. Evo school improved my drivig tremendously. I ran times in...
