Re: Cell/Smart Phone mount that does not make tech grumpy
I was looking into a Ram mount along with a secondary tether. I think the tether is important so it won't fall into the footwell and interfere with pedals in case the primary mount fails. (Or fly off the car and get run over if mounted externally). I don't think I'll bother with it myself; I'm still...

found a tire gauge and infrared thermometer?
I finished fun runs on Sunday and went to work course before I had a chance to move some of my stuff off grid. It's probably in the motorhome and I'll pick it them up in January. Tire gauge is from JACO, and the infrared thermometer is yellow and black (forgot the brand, uses a 9V battery).

Re: Bolt EV co-driver position available for December
Thanks Isaac! So I'm thinking I will stick on HS for a while in an effort to lure some of my friends out in their cars. So, I'll probably want 205/45R17 in the future for 6.5" wide wheels. Not sure, yet, and I think my current tires might last me some more events....

Sure, I can be there at 1pm; I expect we'll be done around 4pm or so?

Re: Anyone else's solo2 notifications going to spam?
One thing I noticed is the A record for cscc.un1teee.com still resolves to 96.30.15.160; which doesn't appear to be responsive. Mail is coming from 64.91.246.41, which reverse DNS says is cscc.un1teee.com.
In other words, forward and reverse DNS don't match, and some spam filters do not like this.

Hi George, it was about my points card, but Randy and Anthony got that cleared up this morning. See you on Saturday and Sunday!

Re: Bolt EV co-driver position available for December
Thanks to Stephen and Isaac for trying my car out! I know Tom wanted to try it, too, but I ran out of runs, but there's next weekend! Looking around pages 266-269 in the manual, I'm not sure if there's fuses I can pull to keep ESC off at higher speeds: https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam/gmownercen...

Re: Bolt EV co-driver position available for December
Awesome! I'm glad to see the Fastrack got sorted out and will also register for the December event. Mine would actually be in one of the Street Touring classes, just not sure which, and I'm fine being in CST, even. I've posted about it on the classing thread: https://forums.solo2.com/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
The Chevy Bolt EV is now allowed and classed into H Street: https://dk1xgl0d43mu1.cloudfront.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/039/288/17-fastrack-December-Solo.pdf However, I put 0.5" wider wheels in mine which puts me into one of the Street Touring classes. I'm not sure, but the “Catch-all” r...

Re: Bolt EV co-driver position available for December
Just looked at the December Fastrack and there's no mention of the Bolt EV, or items #23165, or #22612 related to it; so I might have to drive another car this weekend at the school. Emailed Doug Gill and got a vacation autoresponder... I'm guessing the SEB ran out of time this month and many folks ...

Do I get a confirmation for my points card? I requested #900 on Oct 22nd, 2017 but haven't seen any response.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Bolt EV co-driver position available for December
Hey Randy, I've already run the last few events in LeMons... errm; CAM-C; taking advantage of the instructor lane on Sundays, and already signed up for Solo school. I'm busy on the 12th or I'd be there, too (if the old Camaro survives another day...). Any chance I could run the Bolt for Solo school ...

Bolt EV co-driver position available for December
I'm still a newbie and not completely sure how co-driving works; but I would love to share my car with somebody capable of going fast, curious about an EV, and can help both me and my car improve over multiple runs. The car won't be competitive with dirt cheap summer tires; so it'll just be a fun ex...

Re: Place to measure center of gravity height
It looks like GM published the center-of-gravity height as 20.7" at some point on their media site: http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/vehicles/bolt-ev/2017.tab1.html It wasn't in an earlier copy from 2016, and archive.org has not crawled it this year so I'm not sure when it appea...

Re: Wider car setup
I'm a total newbie at this, but wouldn't making a car wider make slaloms and linked turns more difficult? I understand the CG would be lowered; and maybe that offsets the bigger steering inputs required. Anyways I always feel like my car is too big whether it's autocrossing, driving on the street, o...

Re: First time (again), passing tech in an older car
Just requested a cancellation for Saturday practice. Cars can't pass tech if they don't start.
I'll try to get it fixed on Saturday and maybe run on Sunday if there's walk up spots available.

Re: First time (again), passing tech in an older car
Yep, I've definitely been going over those documents but wasn't sure about some things such as the GM side post terminal. The factory battery mount seems secure for normal driving, at least. Another thing I remembered: the front bumper covers are damaged and held on by zip ties since the original ri...

First time (again), passing tech in an older car
I don't know if my I can get the CoG height / SSF for my beloved Chevy Bolt EV in time, so I will likely fall back to borrowing a car from a family member (with permission, and I'm covered by the insurance, at least off track) if needed. I'm signed up for Saturday practice on 9/23 already (my schedu...

Re: first time on 7/30
Hey all, thanks for the support at practice on Saturday and hope things went well today. Wow, it's tiring being in the sun all day and wearing a helmet for the first time wasn't comfortable; I'll need to strengthen my neck muscles for that! Anyways, I've reached out to someone who should have a good...

Re: Place to measure center of gravity height
Yes, it requires scales, a tall lift and solid shock links; so probably not a lot of places have these. I don't even have the tools or skills to replace MacPherson struts, myself. The center-of-gravity-height will also be different with windows rolled down, and I noticed most folks had both front wi...

Place to measure center of gravity height
Hello, I'd like to find a place in SoCal (preferably Los Angeles) which can do center of gravity height measurements to calculate the Static Stability Factor (SSF) as described in: https://dk1xgl0d43mu1.cloudfront.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/036/760/2017-07-12-sections-1-12.pdf This is for my ...

Link to the Bolt running an event in Detriot aside, the Bolt has been added to the rollover exclusion list in the July 2017 Fastrack https://www.scca.com/downloads/22596-17-fastrack-july-solo/download #21981 Classification? Per the SAC, the Chevy Bolt does not meet the rollover requirements in 3.1....
