4x98 Fiat wheels - 6" or 7"

Howdy from Costa Mesa, I'm looking for another set of wheels for the little Fiat 850 Sedan w/4x98 bolt pattern and 6"-7" wide. My guess is that there are some closet Fiat people out there who may have something that's not being used and needs a new home. Gimme a call and let me know what y...

More Solo Adventures in the Fiat 850 Sedan...

My Pro Solo 2009, or More Adventures with the Fiat 850 Sedan… It’s Thursday night and the car is still on the trailer from the National Tour. Car ran well and didn’t miss a beat. Friday morning, engine starts and revs freely, installed the electric water pump and it finally stopped leaking. I left t...

Slip sliding away at the Tour...

This video is of the Fiat 850 Sedan running Sunday in GP at this years National Tour. Our group got caught in most of the rain - lotsa fun! Event w/street tyres, the Fiat nearly got away from me several times on the first run. Oh yeah, I only had 1 wiper on the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL...

Re: Vintage '70s SoCal Slalom and Solo 1

Thanks for this post, it certainly brought back some memories. I ran Solo 1 in an Abarth Allemano in the early 80's and miss it dearly. Was always a lot of fun and, just like today, a great bunch of people to race with.

Cars & Coffee Revisited

Have been going to Cars & Coffee (Ford building @ 405 & 5 near Spectrum) a little more frequently since our group outing to stir up interest in Solo. Every time I go out I always run out of fliers and I talk to a good number of people while I'm there. I hope that more of you can attend this ...

Nice course once the Fiat got running, sorry about the game delay. The throttle cable stop slipped on my first stop and the jesus clip that holds the throttle rod to the bellcarnk fell off later in the run. Lots of 3rd gear action for the little Sedan. With the new head I was able to reach ri...

Solo Log Book

I have made a few of these for friends and now it's time to supply the rest of the group. I have put together a log book that has room for lots of info for each event that you run and it will allow you to refer back to specific events and how you set up your car. I find this a hand way to keep track...

Re: "Home" Remedies 4 cleaning oil stains on ...

I use OIl Eater here in the shop for cleaning my machines and oil spills. I found that OE can also remove aviation permatex from your hands, which there's not much else out there that even comes close. For driveways, use it 100%, for everything else I use 40%-50% solution, however you can dilute it ...

Very quickly, here's a link to see a Shelby GT500 engine on the Simtester, I knew that you would ask "what is a Simtester".

Re: Zinc reduction in oil -have you switched?

I wrote an article for Sand Sports Magazine about modern oils in the July/August 2007 issue (still available) and discussed how zinc and phosphorous percentages have gone from 0.12-0.14 down to 0.08 and the problems that we have seen in the engine rebuilding industry regarding flat cams, etc. I use ...

Re: 2009 Street Tire choices

You's guys w/big rims have it easy to find a wide variety of tyre combinations. The Fiat 850 Sedan has 13" wheels and I need something in the 20" to 21" diameter range, this led me to getting a set of 175-50/13 Sumitomo HTR 200 (20") and installing them on 6" Panasports, the...

If you are talking about aluminum wheels, if they are straight, and if they are dismounted, I should be able to remove the 2mm, or what ever you think, at my shop. I'm in Costa Mesa. I have a CD-ROM with a complete listing of what all goes w/sale - a bunch of stuff (engines, wheels, new tyres, etc). The...

Re: Class for a 1974 914

I'm gonna try and be there this weekend. I sucked another retainer yesterday in San Diego, engine runs okay under acceleration, but sound slike crap at idle. It's a known Fiat problem on several models, espeically when you are cruising around 8000+ rpms. This is the second time this year for the pro...

Hmmm, as I remember, Fiat's run pretty well in wet conditions. Mind you, it's been nearly 30 years since I drove the Abarth @ Willow in the rain. Never mind the tyres, don't forget to bring your rain gear. SCCA was kind enough to giver everyone a ran poncho when we went to Topeka, mine is now in my ...

Okay, here'ya go. Drove a Fiat Abarth from Austin TX at the Nats. This is my first run on the East course. The car is setup way different than my Sedan, but it was a blast to drive, especially with new sticky tyres!!! More vids to follow as I get'm posted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko5cyv9qUVg&...
