Re: For anyone curious about SCCA Club Racing, ACS 1/17-1/19
Don't let Renee Angel catch you.... I fear Lightning bolts. As long as you are not off hooning in one of the lots they will be happy to have you. I did not see lunch time parade laps on the schedule for this event, but in the past they have allowed anyone to go out there. If you need race fuel or t...

Re: Fun autocross car that can fit a baby car seat? Rx8?
FWIW, I won SK2 with mine in 2011 :D Also, I think the R3 wheels are just an inch bigger in diameter, still 8" wide though, which just means more expensive tires. AFAIK, the gearing is the same, other than the difference in wheel diameter, but the top speed on mine in 2nd is already 67ish, so ...

Re: Fun autocross car that can fit a baby car seat? Rx8?
Jason: My understanding is that the R3 has a stiffer rear bar, a special set of bilsteins ( I'm sure not ideal for solo but would be better than stock valving ) and a half inch wider wheel. I thought that would be better than the lighter weight series 1. I Wouldn't be surprised if I was off base, i...

If you are looking for that model it should be based on the fact you like the trim level, because its not a quicker car. ;)Fred Sullivan wrote:
We can wait, but if we find the right one we're going to jump on it. If anyone comes across a series 2 R3 I'm in the market.

Re: Fun autocross car that can fit a baby car seat? Rx8?
When the child is of age for the forward facing seat I recommend the Recaro. But up until then almost any convertible (base with snap in carrier) will fit.

Re: Fun autocross car that can fit a baby car seat? Rx8?
My wife and I are expecting our first child in may and its got us thinking about switching out the miata for something that can carry a child seat as I may be the one dropping off and picking up the little one. I'd like to keep the miata but if I can't I was thinking a rx 8 would be the closest thi...

Re: Free: GEEZ, G Cube Data Acquisition system
If anyone is interested in one of the original data acquisition systems, I have a complete setup, G-Cube, GEEZ!, and the Palm pilot with serial port to capture all the data. I'm happy to give it away if anyone wants a historical device. The software and protection device are included, although it's...

No. A significant portion of the people don't understand how fuel works so we're going to ask the opinion of the even more significant portion of the population if this is a good idea. Hopefully we get letters back with substance. Something that begins other than "hey, you dumbasses". hah...

Working on that now. If I rent my car out again, I will probably drive a Huffaker MG - same one I drove a few years ago. We'll see To post a photo here, do I need to have it hosted on another site? I have some photos if anyone is interested. Getting it cleaned up now. Cool, hope that works out for ...

Re: Any advise on Hankook Ventus z214?
I'm mostly concerned with road racing, since this car is being built for a specific class. I wasn't sure if the Hankooks were like the Hoosier R6 or the BFG R1S tires. The Hankook is ok to get started on, they are inexpensive, but they are slower and wont last as long as the BFG. When I ran that sa...

Re: National Champion Solstice For Sale
Steve I'm sorry to say our NB has been parked for the last 5 years. I have given up on there ever being a class where I can fix all the inherent shortcomings of a stock Miata. Of course the seb has a class to run in but I have declined to run in C/S against our superior Solstice or in an underdog p...

Re: National Champion Solstice For Sale
Hey Reijo, long time no see. In SCCA's defense they are not banning our car. The SEB is moving the the ZOK Solstice and MS-R Miata to B/S so that every owner of a ZOK Solstice in America is hung out to dry and the MS-R owners will have to take a big PAX hit. Now it appears that the SEB is also movi...

Re: ...Or maybe a truck instead...
The Tundra does it on gearing, it is seemingly never in the wrong spot, and always has power in reserve. I get 19mpg on the hwy (no trailer), I get 15mpg towing a single, and 13mpg towing the big trailer - which has been pulled 70mph up the Grapevine, just to see if it could do it. My only complaint...

After reading their reasoning for the C5 Corvette, I think they forgot the Z51 package adds the shorter gear box in the coupes as well . I think they believe all C5 coupes have the taller gear box, but they forgot the Z51 package has the Z06 gear box. All the FRC have the shorter gear box, and Z51 ...
