It's official...FR-S starts at $24,200 with 6-speed manual, plus $730 destination. Includes 2 years' maintenance, too.

I want one.

Re: Not Just SUV's ... Fiat 500 Also

It would have won SK1 at this event but lets be honest, Brian, Ken or Ryan could win SK1 with pretty much anything. Are you serious here? Based on which index? The tires it was on will almost entirely negate any alien's advantage over our somewhat formidable SK group. Really? It's 2012 and you're s...

They should be allowed, but only for those with Joie Chitwood training.

Yeah, stop the whining! All pilots flying big planes started out in little planes, and they have to practice somewhere.

Re: Toyota/Subaru RWD

Great link, Mako. That was a very thorough write-up, highlighting a lot of stuff that's important to us auto(cross)-centric folks! I like how the FR-S/BRZ twins can still maintain a low hoodline, as flat-4's profile still allows the crush space between the hood and engine hard points required for pe...

Re: Toyota/Subaru RWD

Hi Seb, We were talking about the FR-S/BRZ twins at the autocross, about relative spring rates, and at least at this stage, the FR-S is said to have softer springs yet more aggressive damping, according to Scion chief engineer Tetsuya Tada. The BRZ may well have bigger anti-roll bars, though. I thin...

Simply outlaw water sprayers, and keep your air gauge in the car. Then you wouldn't need jacks, etc.

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Hey Ko, You could run STX, but most who ran the class last year have moved to PAX or STC. The advantage of CST is larger fields (something like 18 entrants at the last event!), with a wide variety of cars, so you feel like you're racing someone instead of being in a class of only one or two. CST rul...

But the rules do say, "generally resembling a miniature road course." I thought there were plenty of sections that tested agility.

Yes, Bob was on fire on his X-runs!!!

Let me be the ninth to thank Tom for his exceptional course. It was so "attackable," with those big, long snakey sections, and even the tight stuff didn't feel tedious.

The run groups in the afternoon always seem to get combined anyway, adding to the confusion of who runs/works when. At least this will simplify things if we know what we're doing from the outset.

Re: 1987 Porsche 924S - Good Buy?

Seems like pretty low miles for that year. Clutch job is about $1500, because with the transaxle/torque tube setup, you need to first drop the final drive, and pull the tube/bellhousing back to get at the clutch. They handle very well...loved my 944 S2! Sometimes the balance-shaft belts can jump a t...
