Re: Help with braking problem

Speaking of such, that very Miata... is currently listed on this site for sale! ...and the experience at Holtville that day, set in motion eventually getting a Miata myself. That totally stock Miata (on Victoracers), ran for hours on end... with the only cool down being the couple of minute of bante...

Re: Help with braking problem

I'm also guessing overheated rotors. Tracked the Integra ('91 GS) once at Holtville... on the third lap, I had zero brakes at the end of back straight... Thank God, going straight there, meant you just kept going down the runway.... They didn't feel right in the two proceeding corners... but my inex...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

I have a 16 year old son and we will be soloing our 2016 mustang ECO 4 with the performance package. We are considering some modifications but would like to keep it in a stock class. The modifications we are considering are Intake, Intercooler and exhaust with minor suspension upgrades such as bush...

Re: When to flip RE71R

Hi Jake, I've been intending to do the math for months now on my tire wear (195/50/15 Re71R's). Finally sitting down & doing it. I ran 31 runs & 2922 miles before I flipped them. At that point the tire company who installed them was already pushing back... because I was just brushing the out...

Re: When to flip RE71R

While slightly higher pressures than I run on the Miata (28-30psi square, lot dependent)... your pressures sound very reasonable... HS... that's why your getting better wear than we get in STS. :-) - lack of camber keeps you inside edges from wearing - lower speeds in corners keeping the outside edg...

Throughout the results... I'm seeing many who stood on Sat morning runs.

Safe to assume rain Sat afternoon, and significant drying didn't start until late run groups on Sunday morning?

Re: When to flip RE71R

Hmm... What kind of car are they on? If you have 50 run's on those.... your not driving hard enough! :D That said... I'm wondering if your running them over inflated. Front or rear on my Miata (which generically speaking are easy on tires), my outside edges were nearly worn off well before I touched...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Hey all, I was wondering what run groups I can register for in a stock 06 MX5, for Sunday's Event that happen to be in either groups 1 or 2 (I can only make it if I run early)? SS? STS? ... I don't mind if the car is not competitive just need some class that is not TO. Also since I'm asking what wo...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

I would sign up for our local class CST, which is run-what-you-brung on 200tw or more tires (which i think the Federals are?) Actually the tires he posted are 140TW, If we updated the rules to match ST classes @ 200TW, he would be in CSM. If we did not make that update, and 140 is still the break p...

Considering Kumho uses the Ecsta brand on most of their passenger & light duty truck tires, Stating Ecsta... isn't much help to Cam. He will need to know the model of the tire too, Like Ecsta V710,or Ecsta STX, or Ecsta PA91.

Re: Looking for a used set of 195/50/15's

Bummer...

I paid to dispose of 8, 1/2 used Toyo's tires about a month ago.

Because of the dumb 140/200TW rule change, I was never going to use them Ax'ing... and with the tread currently on my street tires, I would have had a 10+ yr supply street mile wise.

A car is not necessary to use the camera... I can use it by hand. She was dead set on the camera was not compatible with cars older th...

Course data... aquisition in non-OBD2 cars

Received the SCCA email re: VRIB v/ AutoRacing bundle. After 30min on the phone w/ Garmin... NONE of the data (even camera derived) will display, w/o the OBD2 sensor plugged in. I realize all engine data is out w/ a stock non-OBD2 ecu. BUt with the VRIB, no Speed, no Accl/Braking G, or lap time, as ...

Hey Chris, It depends on the transmission, and requires some investigation by you. 1st, find out if it auto up-shifts at redline/revlimiter even it you don't ... or will it allow you to bang against the rev-limiter? There are quite a few auto & CVT's transmissions that will not stay against the ...

Seb is correct, 9.0 for STR (2wd), the 7.5 was for STR (AWD)

I apparently stopped reading as soon as my eyes registered "STR", and didn't actually read the details.

STR looks like the place to be for your car.

Hi I'm new to this and not sure what class I should be in, I have a 94 Mazda Miata m edition with coilovers, front and rear strut bar, 15x8 wheels with 225 tires, Tires have 200tw, roll bar, other than those the car is stock. This is a tough one... Your M edition, limited slip knocks you out of STS...
