Re: WTB: 15x6" and 15x7" lightweight wheels

Depending on a few factors you have a few choices. do you want the wheels for Auto-X? If yes what class? If street (look up the rules) I think you need to stay with stock offset and width but you can increase or decrease the dia. by one inch. If ST the rules are different. Sometimes new wheels are a...

Re: WTB: 15x6" and 15x7" lightweight wheels

Hi there, I'm looking for two 15"x6" and two 15"x7" wheels with 4x100 bolt pattern. Offsets between +38 to +45. The wheels do not have to be matching but I am looking for lightweight wheels. Bad cosmetic condition is okay as long as there are no cracks/repairs/serious damage. Th...

Re: Set of 4 Audi Ronal Wheels 15"

are they 7 inch wide They look like factory Ronal 16 Spoke 14X6 to me. They came in two different offsets in the 14X6 version. AWD versions are 4x108 and 2WD are 4x100. About 15.5lbs each as I recall. They made a 15" version in 4x100 but they are worth about $600.00-800.00 a set and are very r...

Re: Points Card Squatting

There is something that they do in Chicago region that I think is really kewl. For the numbers 1-20............. If you want to have special markings for the top drivers we could use alphanumeric characters. It works better for top 5 or 9... A1, A2, A3, A4, A5..... A, B, C, D, E, F.... 01, 02, 03, ...

Re: Points Card Squatting

Re: Points Card Squatting

My head is spinning from reading that ^ Hey Doug, were you on that "limitless" drug when you wrote that? :) I only looked at a small fraction of the numbers too. It is amazing how messy it would be to change the numbers. I was waiting for a contractor to finish working on the hous...

Re: Points Card Squatting

..... Many people have numbers than have some particular significance and would probably prefer to keep it. I think it would be difficult to change numbers for many people using lifetime points or PAX results. Many groups/co-drivers have numbers with significance like ["5" and "55&qu...

Re: Thank You John Fendel!

Thanks Gorge for the nice words about John. I was lucky to pit next to John last weekend and in the rush to make the first run group I forgot to wish John good luck in the event. Thanks John for all the great maps, bringing out your beautiful Mustang and making our sport better. And good luck at the...

Re: Passengers at Champ events

@ Steve and some of the others, I am glad I could provide you with some entertainment. I know I will not be successful at changing your decision. For clarity I looked up the SCCA National rules on the passenger topic and number of runs. Some of the folks may not understand what I consider to be the ...

Re: Passengers at Champ events

I hope you don't disagree with my rationale for wanting to relax the regional rules. [/quote] George, I understand your rationale clearly. I am not trying to fight the club reps. You are saying that practice and improving your driving is fun. We all agree with that. That is why so many drivers run ...

Re: Passengers at Champ events

Thanks for adding. At one event a few years ago I took 2 regular Sunday runs and DNFed my third so I could give a CS Fullerton news paper person a ride (not that my car is all that great). The lap was not that much slower but I took the DNF to help someone out and help introduce the sport to more pe...

Re: Passengers at Champ events

The club will do what they want in the name of fun. At some point we will all no longer be racing solo on Sunday. It becomes more of a TEAM race with instruction on the first runs and then the driver in the car gets to work it out on the last two runs. With this proposed rule change the game can ch...

........................... Marshall I see your point about fun and I am glad you enjoy not racing for points on local Sundays over racing on Sunday. Practice, X, and T.O. is fun and you can have passengers and you can have passengers all day on Saturday. It sounds like we have it covered to me. Yo...

Re: Passengers at Champ events

Well, as starter for heat 1 yesterday, I can tell you that rule was probably not being observed. I would have heard of a lot of DNF's over the speaker. I don't know what you should do as event master, starter or grid. I still don't understand the rule. "NOV" on the door and Instructor mag...

Re: Passengers at Champ events

Rule or rumor? If it is a rule it needs to be published, it needs to have visibility and people need to understand it. I heard it from someone and they said, "You could take any passenger on any run as long as they were older than some age and they had a helmet. You could have an instructor any...

Re: R1R TW200

200TW aligns nicely with Good Guys type Muscle cars rules and the world of chump car and Lemons.............. If the thing was a ruse to get rid of Toyo pixie dust then it was BS and they get what they get................... Steve, Thanks for that. I think the Toyo is going to be the tire for that ...

Re: R1R TW200

However, given that toyo has all but explicitly stated that the 140 and 200 tw version are identical other than the stamp on the sidewall, why should anyone care if you show up on 140tw toyos? Even in pax I wouldn't protest a 140tw toyo tire. but show up on a bridgestone or yoko <200tw tire and i'd...

Re: R1R TW200

The drivers that are running every event, tour, pro and practices with a few sets of wheels could get a practice set of ZII*s now and then run the Toyo when it is available. The practice set would be a bummer but they could run in class for points for the first 2 events. If they don't get tires they...

Re: R1R TW200

I already proposed that last fall, that we allow 140TW tire FOR ALL STREET TIRE Classes until the SD tour.... and it was quashed by several board types. They're response was to buck up and buy tires. And then more or less added, if we want to save tire money we should have bought 200TW tires last y...

Re: R1R TW200

Doug makes a good point. Maybe STS needs to take a broader look at it. I've changed my view somewhat when this was brought up at the committee level, I didn't think we should officially allow 140TW in 2014. But at least for the R1R, although it can't be proved beyond all doubt, it now appears fairl...
