Re: Cordless Impact

Follow up on impact guns. The bosch works well, but lacks the torque to remove lug nuts. I am looking at the milwaukee, ingersoll and dewalt, as they reprtedly do have the torque. One consideration is dewalt had a nicely specd cordless compressor, and having a dewalt impact makes only 1 charger anf ...

Re: 2018 Event Statistics

Hi All, chiming in about the course design from the Feb. weekend. I was not there on Sunday to compare changes, but the Saturday course was well done in my opinion. Few drivers had the discipline to avoid the 2nd cone in that first slalom, but it paid dividends to those who did I think! I had ...

Re: Cell/Smart Phone mount that does not make tech grumpy

I ended up using a friend's Go Pro and suction mount on the T- TOP, worked great, except my passenger's head kept hitting it. The video was most instructive!

Bump; registered for Feb. 10 and most likely beyond. Think of it as a chance to get a few runs for free, and on someone else's tires!

Re: Why Get Your Start at Autocross Sunday?

Ok, that makes sense! I believe that will be my plan for the 11th; spend the morning in "instructor" lane, and persuade someone to ride with me in the afternoon. Meanwhile, I believe posting that where it is easily found will get you some more new people on Sundays.

Re: Why Get Your Start at Autocross Sunday?

Umm, does that mean the entirety of the original post is invalid, or that getting someone experienced to ride along is "fat chance, fat boy." I was told that being a noob passenger with a vet driving would be unlikely on Sundays. To my eyes Randy just posted something similar to George's o...

Re: New Racer Hello/Questions

Hi, I am trying to start out myself, and jumping in with both feet. I went to the school back in Nov. 1) go early on Sat. and go through the motions; walk the course, chat up others, ride along. Absolutely a friendly and giving group here! you can borrow a helmet from the trailer, but you might just...

Re: Cordless Impact

I was you a few weeks ago. My research took me to the Bosch 18v 1/2 drive, but the Dewalt and Milwaukee offerings are nice too of course. I scored the driver on amazon for $113 and 2 batteries and charger for about $70 from ebay. The higher powered drivers will take you past $300. For about $16 you ...

Seeking tire/wheel combo

I have found some CL posts that are interesting, but I figured I would post here in case any of the club might have a lead. Seeking a wheel tire combo for my Camaro to run at Fontana this coming year, 1 or 2 sets. 17" or 18" x 9.5" 5x120/4.75 255+/40/17-18 yadda, you know 90s - Y2KX C...

Re: Cell/Smart Phone mount that does not make tech grumpy

Hi Ed,

that 2nd link, how do you attach that to your car.

Yes Eric, a tether could be made from zip ties and anchors cheaply and securely. Good idea!

Thanks!

Re: 2017 Novice School and Practice - November 25-26

Ok, I will be able to attend some practices beginning next year and beg and bribe some experienced folk to ride along! I am in the middle of some small repairs, suspension stuff, to my Camaro so I don't expect to have any specific problems with tech.

Thanks!
