Re: Does one need 1080P TV to take advantage ...

Yes, even on a 720p display, you'll be able to notice the quality difference between Blu-Ray and DVD. A 720p display is 1280x720 pixels. DVD video resolution is 720x480 pixels. Blu-Ray video resolution is 1920x1080 pixels. Either DVD or Blu-Ray will be scaled to fit the 1280x720 pixel screen. In the...

Re: Accomodations - Laguna Seca?

Avoid the Travelodge in Marina. The walls transmit sound very clearly. The Quality Inn (Monterey Beach Dunes) is reasonable and cheap for the area.

Re: Electronics Gurus.....Television pre-wiring

1) Check out the cables offered on http://www.bluejeanscable.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They have some high quality, large-gauge HDMI cable that is suitable for long runs. 2) There are two strategies: One HDMI cable for each potential source, and select inputs usin...

Re: 2010 El Toro Pro Solo (Reg is open)

I encountered a bug submitting my payment information with Firefox. An error message that looks like it's for object oriented code or a database. The national staff is aware of the problem, and recommend using Internet Explorer for now, or faxing them your registration. Darrin wrote the timing softw...

Covina/Azusa area tire mounters?

I'm looking for a shop near Azusa that's competent to mount Kumho V710s and won't charge me a ton of money to do it. Does anybody know a place?

Re: National SK Class?

I have fun running street tires on my S2000 (a BS car) but I will concede that I wouldn't want to run a Z06 or Viper on street tires. The National Street Tire Challenge hosted by the Milwaukee Region last year was widely advertised, and might give some indication of how popular the idea of street ti...

Free 99-00 Miata seat cover

I have a brand new cloth seat cover for the passenger seat of a '99 or 2000 Miata. You can come pick it up in Azusa, or I can bring it to a CSCC event.

This is the seat cover only, not a whole seat. It is a stock Mazda part, not aftermarket.

Here are my 2nd and 3rd runs. The third was the quickest, and I threw in the second for the entertainment value of the drift around the sweeper.

Afternoon schedule

Being new to this club, I'd like to know when to show up for the afternoon run groups. When do registration and tech close? What's the nominal first car out time? What's the typical true first car out time? When does the course open for walking?

Re: February 2010 Fast track

The Porsche Boxster was part of the original STR proposal that was sent out for member feedback. I suppose that the STAC and SEB considered extensively whether to include the Boxster in the class before putting out the final rule set just a few months ago. I don't think that they are likely to chang...

Like I said, how about just giving me a ride inside from the La Quinta right outside the El Toro entrance?

That doesn't sound like much fun.

How about someone I can call to come outside pick me up at the La Quinta near the entrance at around 6-6:30?

Ride from SNA Friday

Hi, I'm looking to either share a cab or get a ride to the site from the Santa Ana (John Wayne) airport at around 5pm on Friday. Call me at 408-688-6000 if you can help.
