OK, but the HP+'s are already ordered and I need to convince Karen I did the right thing when she reads this! ;)
Luckily Isley has a LOT of credibility as THE Late Brake'r.

Daily driver ... then 135 BMW !!! A new M3 owner was telling me that the 135 felt "sportier" then his M3 because of it's lightness. He said for "normal" fast driving, the lack of a LSD is not a problem because the suspension is so "good." Former AX'er ... who also has a...

Yes, ABS and HP+'s ordered.
What's this about using different pads front/rear to change bias. Does that really matter with ABS?

Brake Pads for CS Miata ?
Should we have something "stronger" then Hawk HP+'s up front with Karen's CS Miata running 225 710's? Tim says No.

Re: Henry I was wrong
The new Miata's are so softly sprung that they can't be rescued with stiff shocks. Leonard sold his. They have to go straight to CSP so you can get stiffer springs. I did a run with one on Saturday. The paddle shifters were fun to down shift going into corners but sometimes difficult to reach with t...

Some of the low cost items coming out of China use really cheap steel. I remember Chad's first coilovers settling something like almost an inch in the first week! And bolts rounding off on the first day, etc ....

Re: When Do I Have to Leave for Nationals?
Probably more with higher fuel costs now ... but that also effects ones own fuel costs. At 20 mpg, it's going to cost at least $600 for the 3,000 mile round trip, plus a motel out and back. Add another $100.
We got less then 10 mpg last year towing ... so, over $1,200 for gasoline alone.

Re: Best 140 Wear Rating Tires?
Toyo's have the advantage of being extra light ... but at the expense of softish sidewalls. I guess that issue would be exasperated on a heavier car.
I LOVED their TS1. Great street tire, amazing in the wet. Very similar to the top rated Goodyear GS-D3 ... same tread design.

Re: Best 140 Wear Rating Tires?
Anyone hear anything more about the Toyo R1R ... that Andy Hollis was using on one end of his Civic at El Toro, and Mihai is using on his STX/WRX? Mihai says that on his car they're slower I believe then his RE01 Stones. Supposedly they're quite soft. Perhaps good for cooler weather, lighter cars an...
