Re: Jan 24-25 Practice Event Thread

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and new to California and looking to test out my car out here. I'm curious if it's too late to sign up for Sunday? And if it's not how do I go about it? Thanks for the last minute help! You're in luck. At the event, it was noted that there are 2-3 spots open for t...

Re: Tire leak @ bead - remove wheels or use "flat tire repair"?

Thanks for the input guys. Tire shop checked it, turned out to be....

mud stuck between the bead & wheel!

How that mud got there, I have no clue. These tires & rims were sitting around for a bit.

I'm back in business, thanks!

Tire leak @ bead - remove wheels or use "flat tire repair"?

Has anyone run autocross after using the "flat tire repair"? I know it's gross & tire mounters hate it, but I'm hoping it works well. These tires are new, so if I use the flat repair, it will be for a while. -------------------------------------------------- I had these mounted a coupl...

Re: Jan 24-25 Practice Event Thread

O, one question I had, is there a $10/person gate fee like when speed ventures holds practice there?

and if there is, the gate fee is separate each day?

Those Radio Shack units look interesting. I'd probably put it on a switch or a pot (to turn it down) so I don't learn to hate my car before I start it! Go back a category on the link Will provided, there's a volume adjustable one. piezo beeper w/ volume control This is a great idea, thanks Will! I ...

My friends introduced me to Oil Eater - you can get this @ costco/sam's club/etc - in the large jug w/ a separate spray bottle. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51BXD4HFYTL._SL500_AA280_.jpg I have quite a bit of oil leakage on my driveway that I should attend to soon & a large bottle of oi...

Which class do you run? Just run the biggest rim & tire size you can for the class :).

You can always join CST & run 17x10's all around, yummy.

Re: New for 2009 DMV Vehicle code laws/rules/fines?

That air quality one ($50 for temporary operator permit) got me today :(. Went to get my extension because I failed smog & couldn't get it because I didn't bring any cash since it used to be free - good thing it was at AAA and not DMV where I would have waited hours to find that out. I'm actuall...

Re: Car bras and Cones

I know Roger Ang (Red Porsche Boxster) runs a car bra @ autox (and possibly daily) - his is color matched to the car. He loves it. I never notice any cone marks on his car... but I don't notice most cone marks on any cars. I've seen a few things rip off of cars by cones, but a car bra hasn't been on...

Re: Nov 22, 23 at AAA Speedway, Speedventures, no working cones

I guess if that includes the inside lot. We aren't using the track (at least not the autox guys). And they want $10/person, not a car, which makes it even worse. Again, up til yesterday after email discussion with them, the gate fee wasn't even listed on the web site for the autox. Now that it is li...

Re: Nov 22, 23 at AAA Speedway, Speedventures, no working cones

I had originally thought it was a mistake (i.e. copy & paste email from their track events). NOPE! They are charging a gate fee per person (again, as of this post - I've been emailing telling them I think it's pretty ridiculous) for AAA Speedway once you're in the inner track. EDIT: They have up...

Re: Nov 22, 23 at AAA Speedway, Speedventures, no working cones

Just FYI for anyone planning on signing up. I registered and received an email about a "$10 gate fee" per person. I emailed Speed Ventures, and yes, there is a gate fee. Letting you guys know since I didn't see it anywhere on there before paying for it as of this posting (their other event...

Re: Nov 22, 23 at AAA Speedway, Speedventures, no working cones

it is a smaller lot, so course is tighter, lower speed than CSCC courses. in the past, it has always been small car friendly at Speedventures auto-x I'm sorry, I don't know anywhere @ the speedway other than the Green Lot we're at. So where is that on the map? http://www.autoclubspeedway.com/images...

Sounds like a great event. I've always wanted to run Streets of Willow, but I've been too scared to do it without instruction first.
