OBD11 Code readers

I apologize if I'm resurrecting a previous subject, but I'd like to hear about folks' experience with code readers. On the Corvette I can read the codes on the driver information channel (DIC) but it's very limited as to what the code(s) pertain to. I've downloaded the code list speciific to my car ...

Re: Power Steering Fluid

It looks like i'm going to replace my power steering pump due to intermittant failure in slaloms and tight zig-zags. Any thoughts on upgraded fluid?
Replaced the pump with an upgrade from Turn-One and used Royal Purple Synthetic (what I could find at the time). Problems solved. :)

Re: For Sale (again) 1964 Impala SS droptop

Just after she got out of high school the wife got a '64 SS 409/409 w/4 speed. She realized it was to much car for her so she sold it and got a Metropolitan. Talk about a bad idea...............

Re: GRA Practice July 21 El Toro

Is there any possibility of a separate kids course (even if it is just for Saturday)? Parents can take care of set up and tear down if there is space. I volunteer to be Youth Steward if that helps. With the coverage of the required Youth Steward, this will occur. Bob Hempy GRA Club Representative Y...

Re: FS: 4 - 15 x 7 , 4 x 100 Enkei RPF1's, +35 offset

Is this a conflict between the terms "backspace" and "setback"? I'm thinking in terms of the difference from the hub face to the wheel centerline vs the hub face to the back edge of the wheel.

thought the R888 was a sub-140 UTOG?
Yup. My thinker took a timeout. But, I might still consider them for PCA events. The tire budgeting thing is no fun, particularly in the larger sizes where availability is limited.

Toyo R888

I'm considering going back to street tires and I see the Toyo R888 comes in Corvette sizes (for me that's 275/17 and 315/18). Anyone have experience? If it makes a difference - my car weighs about 3200.

Re: Cal Club grid process could use tweaking...

And, the grid chief needs to have the authority to deny a run to those holding up the event. Nothing sacred about number of runs. Maybe the grid chief needs a radio to stay connected to the folks in the motor home, i.e "Control, this is the grid chief, car xx is denied one run." Don't know...

4-5 years ago at Fontana, a Saturday practice was 28° at 7am, with a breeze that made the real feel about 20°. The daytime high never made it to 40°. Truly awful.
