Being the club rep for No$ Renee was one of the first people I met when I started autocross, and she welcomed me from day 1. When I was new she went out of her way to make sure I new what to do and when. And as I've aged, she did her best to get me work assignments that didn't require 3 days of pain...

Nope. Never done it. Don't even know which venue it's at.I will be happy to give instructions to whoever is going to move the CTV on Friday. See me at the event this weekend. If it's you Steve, I believe you're aware of what to do, yes?

Isle of Man TT..........Insanity
There are several ohmygod moments in this video where folks get off their motorcycles at very high speeds. Not the point of the post. Crazy racing is. I can't begin to imagine the balls it would take to do this. http://www.angelfire.com/ak2/intelligencerreport/insane_race.html" onclick="wi...

Re: E-Z UP Sale
FWIW, I currently use a "First Up" from Walmart which IMHO is a much better canopy than the EZ Ups. Cheaper too ($95 for 10x10). I've had EZ UPs and I couldn't put them up/down by myself. No problem with the Walmart one. Also the First Up has a wind slot at the peak so it's not quite as li...

Re: good machine shop
Are you looking to have parts made straight off the solid model files, or you expecting the shop to have the same software (AutoCad, Solidworks, Pro-E, etc)? If the parts are relatively simple geometry you're probably better off to produce drawings. I'd guess an .IGES file can be read by most CAD so...

Re: DIY Powder coating
I think you'd have problem curing the powder coat. I believe it takes an oven cure in the 350-400 degree range. A couple of years ago I looked into having some wheels powder coated and several places that do that sort of thing recommended against doing aluminum wheels used in competition do to the c...

Speaking of HUGE thanks, Berry Family Racing gets some love from me. They were kind enough to transport my rain tires to and from Lincoln and when I approached Tom about compensation his reply: "I'm not worried about it, take me out to dinner sometime if you'd like". How neat. And this is ...

Re: Event Chair for September Event
Casting call for an Event Chair. The "normal" rotation is a bit tired and quite frankly, it is good to get new blood in the rotation. In fact, over the past few years we've had a few new people step up (Kurt Rahn and Steve Towers come to mind - sorry if I'm forgetting others) and take on ...

Re: SCCA ProSolo Finale (Lincoln, NE) - Results
Just so's folks know, the courses are as different as night and day. Totally different driving styles required. The East course is of like driving through a series of 90 degree corners with a couple of short slaloms. The west course is almost entirely slaloms and walloms, with a couple of nasty corn...

Re: A Good place to get my wheels cleaned?
How about a shop that refurbishes blocks, heads etc. They'll likely have a big cleaning tank wheels could be dipped in. Maybe a wheel plating shop. Check with your local tire shop that does off-road and such. They are usually connected to shops the refurb wheels.

Pro Finale Entry Issue
Just so folks know, for now and in the future - those (like me) who had only 1 Pro Solo prior to the finale were not able to register until today (Aug 5). Turns out when we registered we were put on a waiting list with no way to know where we stand or our chances of getting in. :( The moral of the s...
