Re: Sound in San Diego
A stock C6 Z06 should not be over sound. The stock C6Z has a set of vacuum actuated flaps that basically turn the exhaust into a strait system under load, which is loud. The standard C6 also has an optional factory exhaust that is right up there with the loudest of the aftermarket stuff. I would no...

What kind of car does Chris drive.........? Oh yeah, now I remember! :gpower:Steve Ekstrand wrote:What do you think of the size, 1100 x 700? Sounds pretty good I think.
I've liked the couple of Chris Cox courses I've driven on. Anybody know who the second designer is?

Re: Check out this clown
Mako,
I thought the one now on the press release link above (substituted for the original shot) was one of yours.
Looking at the original and comparing to the shot you posted above, I can see you did a little work to this one
It's a great shot, as usual.

Re: Good news for SK1 & SK2 at San Diego Tour
Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, I apologize. Looks like I will need to get a co-drive for the Pro then. So who wants a co-driver? Gary? I doubt you ruffled any feathers. I just couldn't wait to see the responses to your question ;) As for the Pro, I hope to run a car other than my own, because ...

Not sure if I will make it Sunday. 18 entrants is great stuff, too bad Berry will not let it be close for the top spot
Steve, he meant an SS killer if it was classed there. Thankfully, it's not.

Re: 2009 Febuary Fastrack
I was not present at the 2005 Nationals where a GT2 won ASP. I guess there was rain in Day 1 due to the variations on times from the top drivers. On day 2, things look more consistent. Danny Pop beats the ASP GT2 by 1.3 seconds, and the GT2 can't match the times on the Top 5 SS drivers. I was there...

Re: 2009 Febuary Fastrack
The 996 GT2 is slower for autoX than the 996 GT3 in stock form. It should be allowed in SS. Once the suspension has been updated, and the turbo lag problem reduced (headers, sport cats and exhaust + ECU tuning) the GT2 takes the lead. However, I remember back at the 2006 Nationals, a SuperStock Bla...

Re: Febuary Fastrack
Not that the new BMW M3 (E92) has a great chance in A-Stock but I agree moving it there from the even bigger shark tank of Super Stock, where it would have NO chance. It's just too heavy a car to go up against Lotus, Corvette, Viper, 911 GT2 (or 3) Gio, 996 GT2 ($200k new) is not in SS, thank goodn...

Good memories! Thanks. I "Coe"-drove with Gary in that car at the '88 nationals. Difficult trip though, Gary mumbles and I can't hear. He didn't understand my addiction to coffe. My best finish at the nats was in his car. I gotta thank him for that! Steve Coe Steve, As I recall, we ...

Wow Jason, you're really dating me now, that's an old one! I probably have a copy of that cover somewhere. CSP tougher than BSP. <various bitching snipped> Right. Got this one wrong. Oh, stop! I talked with Rick about this last year, and his response was he was not "ready" to make CSP faster than BSP. Sounds like he saw the light! Although, to be truthful, I told him the problem there wo...

Re: 10/12/08 Guldstrand's Octoberfest Championship
It was a joke, Gary. I never assumed that because you didn't like a slalom on one course it meant you didn't like them at all. I did say it was amusing.......... I also thought it was topical. The sweeper is a slowly disappearing feature of autox in general, steadily being replaced by more and more...

Re: 10/12/08 Guldstrand's Octoberfest Championship
It's GRA so the course Oh joy, straights connected by U-turns. Gary Thomason will be pleased by any lack of slaloms. :D Amusing. Interesting how things morph over time. Believe me, I am not a fan of u-turns followed by straights as a major theme. My only complaint concerning slaloms is that they sh...

I'd also like to point out that Kyle put in a bad ass drive as Gary's first driver, very impressive... and of coarse Gary did the most amazing AX run i've ever seen. Kyle was the perfect co-driver: didn't argue with the hard-headed car owner, provided very useful feedback on the course and car, and...

.........The only change made between street driving and autocross is rear toe and shock settings - both of which I can do myself (don't give me any cra*, people - I can work on my car if I have to although I admit it can be scary!).
