Re: 2008 F1 Podium Picker Challenge: British Grand Prix (Rd 9)

Rain always re-sorts the field. I would have picked differently if I'd known/checked the weather for today. And just like quali, the results were just as unexpected. :) RAIN...........the great equalizer!! Someone put out an APB (All-Points Bulletin). Or better yet, someone call AAA I think Ferrari...

Re: 2008 F1 Podium Picker Challenge: French Grand Prix (Rd 8)

Sorry Gio, one more request. My points are showing 39 now, I had 33 before the French GP +10 points =43. I'll fix it after the British Grand Prix. I have your points ready to update. Okay fixed the points for you Ramy. You actually had 35 before the French Grand Prix and with 2+2=4 that gave you 39...

Re: 2008 F1 Podium Picker Challenge: British Grand Prix (Rd 9)

Okay that was a weird practice (lots of offs, shunts, and misleading times). I smell another 1-2 German punch...but this time it's the 3-pointed star German team: 1. Lewis Hamilton - Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes 2. Heikki Kovaleinen - Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes 3. Kimi Raikonnen - Scuderia Ferrari Marlb...

Re: 2008 F1 Podium Picker Challenge: British Grand Prix (Rd 9)

Those of you who set your dvr/vcr to record Practice 2 this morning might be shocked to find the first hour is Pinks. Speed sent the wrong info to most cable/satellite providers. The channel continues to suck more ever year since Fox bought it, with idiotic reality shows in stead of real rac...

This Friday is a holiday. Steve meant the Friday (July 18th) before the Cal Club Divisional @El Toro MCAS on Sat-Sun (July 19th-20th) So is it every friday before the race or just this one? Also "Test-n-Tunes" only happen (if available) for "Divisionals, National Tours, Pro Solos&quo...

Re: Are there any Los Angeles area events?

If you have off on Friday's the El Toro Test n Tune will have a 1-5pm Test n Tune course, some practice runs before the big show and you could probably get a couple of ride alongs or an instructor to help. This friday? or every friday? I'm sorta confused? http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/...

Pre-Reg for regular championships cuts off like Friday night before 10pm PST to be exact (except for the NOTLD - Night of the Living Dead event held in August every year; the cutoff day is Thursday since the event starts on Sat night and ends into the early dawn of Sunday morning - hence the nickna...

There is also the BMW event in San Diego this weekend ... besides their regular events: http://www.sdsolo.com/forum/ But remember, you have to a BMWCCA member (especially for the San Diego chapter) and pre-registeration closes a week before the event, and only 10 spots are reserved for X-class cars...

What about personal safty gear? do I need a race suit & helmet? I already have both being I'm into the Off Road racing thing. As others mentioned, HELMET is mandatory (SNELL rating). A race suit is definitely OVERKILL because for one thing you'll only be in the car for 60 seconds per ...

2008 F1 Podium Picker Challenge: British Grand Prix (Rd 9)

I'm putting up the thread now as next week is a short week due to our nation CELEBRATING our independence from those "nancy" boys over 200 years ago. And how ironic that now the F1 circus travels to "nancy" boy's (Max Hayter's) home turf of Britain where the Silverstone Circuit o...
