I've been trying desperately to think who my first instructor was - I'm going to go with Norm or Toby!

First Evo school instructor was Tom Kotzian and Kevin Dietz... awesome :thumbup:

Last instructor was Tom Berry... humbling :shock:

Have you considered shifting to third early in situations where you know you'll be riding the limiter in 2nd gear to avoid rapid fire up/down shifts? That's probably worth logging on a straightaway test on a back street just to see how much full throttle distance you need to make a 2-3-2 shift wort...

Top in 3rd is 72mph. The trouble with that course was that we were shifting just entering a slalom. That threw the car offline. Both sections were followed by very tricky corners which would only be further complicated by shifting back to 2nd. If done right, I'm sure it might have been quicker, but ...

I find Data Acq. to be much more useful now that I have Aaron to interpret the data! :D One of the main things we use it for during an event is to determine whether to use 3rd gear. For instance, on my first run on Sunday, I went to 3rd twice and we then looked at the data to see the terminal speed ...

To advertise on the board usually involves a contribution to Solo2. They all pay something like $300 (I can't remember the exact amount). Mind you, I can't imagine you would need anymore than mine and Aaron signatures :lol:
