Re: ProSolo LA 2009?
My guess is most auto-xers do Tours, then they see a "Pro" afterwards and are curious want to do it the following weekend. I'm using "auto-xers" as not the "hard-core" who will do both regardless of the order. There are a few that LOVE "Pros" and only do that...

Re: how has the economy hit you?
My company (a screen printing business that caters mostly to corporate customers and some school stuff) hasn't been hit significantly so far. In fact we are in our best year ever (25 years in business) and moved into a larger facility a few months ago. Hopefully it won't change much in the future si...

Sucks about the BMW damage but glad to hear your damage is minor, Mari.
The way you guys are going through vehicles lately maybe you should look into licensing the karts......

Re: Novices & points cards
I noticed that none of the novices in my last event had a points card (they all had 600 series numbers). So I am wondering why should I get a points card. I can just run weekend memberships (when I can make it to an event) and 600 series numbers until I'm bumped out of the Novice class, right? Than...

Steve, you can cross me off the practice list, too.
I'll be there early to set up timing and the computers for Sunday, but that's it. Probably not driving on Sunday either. Have an eye injury that might be aggravatated by the kart g-forces.

Re: ProSolo LA 2009?
Well, we basically set aside March for those events, looking to get two Champs in February. But we won't know for a bit on what dates we get at AAA Speedway and SD doesn't schedule until January. Plus we have to see what SCCA wants.

Re: Port Of Long Beach Site
Probably the main reason the drift event is there, BIG MONEY. The city can absorb a lot of inconvience and negativity from police and other support groups if the income is big enough. I'm sure they are paying way more than we'd ever be able to consider. Of course we don't require any support from th...

Re: Rules Proposal: Averages
As I stated above, the whole average concept wasn't originally for event conflicts. Over the years as specific conflicts came up, that item was added to the informal list of approved things. First Tours and Pros (mainly Pros since that was a true series and there were several within reasonable drivi...

Re: Rules Proposal: Averages
I prefer the first version, too. But with a simpler title like 7.7.1 AVERAGE FOR EVENT CONFLICT. I agree with Steve that it would be nice to somehow include something to avoid abuse, just not sure how to do it. Maybe just the fact that it has to be asked for and approved by the committee is enough. ...

Re: Receiving class average
That's attending a West Coast SCCA National Event as the Tour or Pros. We haven't limited them to west coast, that's just the majority of the requests. I've gotten an average for a Tour in Texas in '05, and we've given them for far away SCCA functions. The way we apply it, it doesn't really need to...

Re: Motorhome work day
The dumpster has been delivered! May it runneth over! It did. Very quickly. And there is a pile next to it which will probably overflow it again as soon as it's emptied. The back is now just a big open space ( 8' wide by 11'8" long) from where the kitchen was back. Putting the stuff back in th...

No problem Larry. My only regret is that it didn't happen 30 or 40 years ago! Although I wouldn't want to have missed out on the 30+ years of Z-Car driving.

Re: Motorhome work day
We have ideas. Definitely another door on the other side. Maybe bigger doors. Maybe a platform that extends out or folds out on each side that cones can be placed on as they are being picked up and then easily moved inside by those in there. Maybe just a large fold down door where the kitchen is now...

Re: Motorhome work day
Just curious. Are you planning on moving timing to the back of the motorhome, or just gutting it and using it for storage? Getting rid of anything not timing-related (no kitchen, beds, etc)? The basic plan is to gut the back, install bigger windows wrapping all the way around (kinda like San Diego'...

I like Christine's 6x overlay of the Green Lot on Lincoln. Hawt! Yea, you could set up six events at once and get 1/2 a season in one weekend. Or 10 cars on course at once (max the timer can handle) on a 4 minute course! Of course you could only have 2 run groups in order to have enough worke...

Re: Motorhome work day
Can we do a carbonfiber print overlay on the work? And an 8' tall Red "R" for the back of the motorhome? The roof of Toby's car had that (the carbon fiber, not the R) at the last event. Just a pattern printed on car wrap material. If we ever actually get the digital printer we are suppose...

That weekend my wife and I will be on the beach camping. I'm more of a construction guy then a destruction guy anyway. Re: 2008 Class/Overall Points
Adrian DNF'ed his second run, but it's not reflected in the results (I think we've both already e-mailed Rick about it) - it was there when the results were first posted, then inexplicably disappeared. It really changes the spread on the overall points battle. Oh, Hey Rick can you look into that? Y...

I'll be there. Don't worry KJ, this is definitely more than a one day process. There will be plenty of other times to help. This will mostly be the demo phase.
