Re: May FasTrack
How hard would it be for the SCCA to do their own durometer testing. Compare A6's/710's to the ST tires. The ST tires have to be X harder then R's Mako, Durometer readings would not be a good way to do this for many reasons. Everything else being equal , there is a definite correlation between duro...

Re: El Toro
Been there several times, including just a couple months ago for a project for a new Honda. They still do some work there. The big oval is unique because there is no banking, but the turns are of such a ridiculously large radius that I recall we were running 130 mph in them in a stock Acura on stock...
Re: El Toro
Fontana is just not a place I care to drive that far for. I'll be at PCA next weekend at ET though. 12 runs, fast and flowing, suits a GT3 perfectly...... I might even exceed 70 mph :ibrightdea:

Ken ... Gary ... George ... :? Totally unofficially, nothing to worry about for a couple years, at least for our area.....unless the economy gets crazy good in the very near future, which is not very likely by all accounts. Our Max was faster on the 2nd day than any of the cars that finished ahead of him overall, and he missed top time for that course by a mere tenth, let alone the overall win by 0.16. I could not have been more proud :gpower:

Re: George D winning the Madonna Award
I should also point out that George's navigator, Tom S., deserves a lot of the credit for this amazing achievement. Tom has been through a couple of nasty crashes with George over the years, and has taken it all in stride. His talents are of course crucial to the team's success. Nice job, Tom :thumb...

Might want to ask Junior Johnson (multiple Nat. Champ., multiple and current ASP Champ.) how good a stock 'Vette diff. is and what an OS Giken did for the car (C6 Z06). Just sayin, Jason.... Hmm....might also be somewhat interesting to ask Junior just how much he actually paid for that spanky new d...
Re: 2011 pax
I think you've got that backwards Will. You probably need to review ancient Z28 Camaro history. The camshaft/heads in the engine he is using will be pulling hard to near Integra rpm levels in that short-stroke V8Will Kalman wrote: He's not Viper-boy any more but he still has torque - all the way to 4700RPM!
Re: 2011 pax
Gary, $15k is too much for making it ASP competitive, less than half of that is the real number. ... this should put you in the 2,880 lbs, and you can still do the AC delete and radio delete for another 45 lbs to be removed. Run ASP, SS is a boring class, it is Braun and the rest. Those mods would ...

Re: 2011 pax
Gary, I only look at around 1600 sets of results a year. This year (and last), I just have not seen that guys are able to improve cars very much when they go to ASP. If all of you Super stock guys were only .2 seconds off of top index each time, you may have a point, but the .2 shift for 2011 isn't...

Re: 2011 pax
.....To be honest, the two adjustments I can't make any sense of are SS and BS...for exactly opposite reasons. Tell me about it. According to Rick Ruth, an ASP Corvette is only .30 faster than a SS Z06 on a 60 second course, Tom Berry only needs to beat SS by .12 in the Evo, and CSP is basically he...

Wendover is ALWAYS an adventure. How true, and thanks for the kind words, Steve. It snowed on us very hard near McGill also, but nothing like it did in the middle of hwy 318. One stretch there must have had 3 inches of snow on the road surface, with no tire tracks at all because of zero traffic tha...

Re: Size: 285/30R18 (24.8" tall) or 315/30R18 (25.6") for GT3?
So, for the 2010 El Toro Pro, shall we hand the trophy to the guy with the GT3 and save him an axle? I happen to think this is a dandy idea  :gpower: No doubt the GT3 is the best SS car at a Pro, and Gary the best driver, but no free trophies will be handed out. Perhaps if the rest of SS is l...

Re: Size: 285/30R18 (24.8" tall) or 315/30R18 (25.6") for GT3?
Well sure, but given that stock cars are designed to understeer (maybe the gt3RS doesn't, i don't really know) do you really want to be anywhere near those tire sizes? With less front tire you need more rear roll stiffness which is not good for putting down power in a RWD car and at some point will...

Re: Size: 285/30R18 (24.8" tall) or 315/30R18 (25.6") for GT3?
245/315 sounds horrible to me. Keep in mind the weight bias is 64 percent rear. BTW, the stock tires on the 2010 GT3 RS are 245/325, so this is a very normal ratio for this car. The 255/315 combo takes it quite a bit towards less push than stock. Actually, this ratio change just about makes up for ...
