Re: how has the economy hit you?

Got laid off in late November. The current job market is near non-existant for what I do. The company that I got whacked from is tied into new construction. Because of the lack of available financing, many new construction projects are being "pushed back" or put on hold. Not necessarily ca...

Great early call. Much appreciated. I'm about 50 freeway miles southwest of Fontucky and the wind is blowing pretty hard here. Must be really bad there.

Re: Car bras and Cones

For my first four years I ran with a color matched bra from Speed Lingerie and it did very well protecting from cone hits. It won't fit with race tires due to interference when turning, otherwise I'd still have it on. They (supposedly) guarantee their product up to 150 mph.

Re: New Cars to be stored at El Toro

Another way of looking at it, you could probably store at least 30,000 cars (packed in) in 100 acres.

Per the article, the estimate is for 100-150 cars per acre.

New Cars to be stored at El Toro

For those of you that don't get the Orange County Register, on Dec 16th and Dec 20th there were articles that spoke about car dealers leasing "up to" 100 acres of the El Toro runways for overflow storage. Is that enough acreage to impact Solo events? According to today's article the usage ...

The autocross area at the Santa Maria airport is very small and slick as ice.

Re: Numbers for Nationals

If you really get hard up, just make up some legal paper numbers and tape them over the meatball. Have new ones each day in case it rains.

I had my paper numbers laminated. I've used them over and over, and they're waterproof.

Re: Need advice for SS Z06

FWIW - I've had my 2000 hardtop (non Z06) for almost 5 years. The car has almost 40k miles and about 800 autocross runs - no shop time by the previous owner or me. The message being that not all C5's are defective, although I know that most of the things listed in previous posts are not uncommon.

I'd take a couple. Doesn't even need anything on the back. I'd prefer a polo type shirt (with collar). If you insist on something on the back, how about the international "No" over a cone? :computer:

Well, now I don't feel so bad about the huge pigeon that attacked me a about a month ago during a run at El Toro...................

or maybe it was a white towel that was FIRMLY wedged between the passenger seat and center console and somehow became airborn.

1st was Brian Chmielewski at a Cal Club school in 2004. Since then, I've had Tom Kotzian and Junior Johnson in EVO school, and Tom Berry at a Cal Club school.

I've got no excuse for not going fast.
