Re: Points Card Squatting

............. the thought of eventually getting their favorite number can possibly be a good motivator for participation and involvement. One point I would like to make is, "You can't expect to get your favorite number. It may happen but your favorite number could be 7, as an example, and that...

Re: Points Card Squatting

While a simple vanity, point card numbers can and should be used as a reward for continual contribution and participation to the region's events. For new members, the thought of eventually getting their favorite number can possibly be a good motivator for participation and involvement. Veteran memb...

Re: Points Card Squatting

It should be optional. Many people have numbers than have some particular significance and would probably prefer to keep it. Like F1. Yes, there are a few people with 1-20 numbers who show to one or two events a year. Those numbers are pretty coveted, to I'd be totally in favor of this. It'd have t...

Re: Points Card Squatting

I would like to see something like "Participation in at least 6 points events over 2 yrs". Lots of names I see in the 1-199 list that are not part of our region and/or have not even competed in one local event the last 2yrs....hard to see how they are contributing to our region if they do...

2016 Points Cards

Today's the day I begin accepting points card renewals. If you purchase a new points card, it'll be good for the rest of 2015 and all of 2016. What a bargain! Just a refresher on how this process works. Between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 you can renew your number and secure it for the next year. To purchase...

2015 VW GTI, stock except for a stg 1 ecu tune. Does that take me out of ST? A tune moves you from Street to Street Touring - I believe the GTI falls into STX. if a stage 1 tune changes the factory boost control in any way (which is very likely) it is not ST legal either. street prepared is the fir...

Make $100 Watching Global Rallycross

I'm the chief flagger at next weekend's Global rallycross event at the LA harbor. If anyone who's not going to nationals is available Friday, we're looking for a couple flaggers. It's much easier than flagging at a club racing event, as there are only a yellow and a red flag, and no advance training...

Re: New Street tires detrimental to the sport?

Here's a nugget that was passed to me early in my autocross career that will help you digest what the class is. Don't think of it as stock. These cars don't roll off the showroom floor. Stock is not literally stock. Stock is just a level of prep. It's not meant to be anything more or less. And like ...
