You cant get more Novice than me. I have a 08 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE with 20" rims, Tein springs, SPC camber bar, RL traction bars, and rear sway bar. Engine is entirely stock except for the oil filter. I used a remote that changed it from the thimble sized original filter to a Denso 90915 20004 with fiber element. My car has the CVT, am I going to be a unicorn on the track with a CVT? What class am I going to run?

Define "Tune", a dealership "tune up" at 10k miles type... or are we talking chiped / piggyback ECU etc?

If not of the dealership type... details of the mods are needed to provide an answer.

Hi Craig,

Tune being an ECU Tune by Eurocharged. Raised HP and TQ numbers up from 450/443 to about 520/490.

Stock, I think it is in FS nationally. I'm not sure what street prepared class you bump to, but locally you probably just want to sign up for CST - a local run what you brung street tire class.

I am not entirely new to autocross, getting back into it with a friend. However, I previously competed on the east coast with BMW CCA, and with a different car.

What class will I be in with a lightly modded 1989 BMW 325i manual?
modifications: coilovers with camber plates, 16" x 8" wheels wrapped in 205/50ZR-16 BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 tires, E36 steering rack (give a tighter ratio than stock), "OEM" short shifter (swapped bmw shift levers for a shorter throw), poly urethane transmission mounts, wheel studs, rolled inner fender lips, and corbeau GTSII sport seats

Sounds like the first car would be STX.

Second car would be Street Mod... but I could be wrong on that one. Someone who knows more than me will chime in soon.

Thanks! I reviewed the rules some more and I understand how/why it's STX... wasn't as complicated as I thought it was. Still unsure of the S52 swapped e30 though. Waiting for some more input.

I think the Steering rack puts you in SM.

Hi Everyone -- -- I have an old SCCA car-- 1970 VW Karman Ghia -- that use to run at Phoenix and Vegas in the 80's and 90's in EM (still has a couple battle scars on it). But I've brought it back as a street car that I drive around as a play toy with a highly modified engine -- it still has the cage, window restraints, 5 point harness, etc., etc., I'm planning on being in CSM as it is on 240 treadwear X-drives -- Is there going to any issues with this classing?????

With 240TW Tires you should run CST.

Only difference is tires.

CALIFORNIA STREET MODIFIED (CSM):
Vehicles eligible for CSM must be capable of being licensed for street use in California, shall be
run on DOT approved tires and must meet all SCCA Solo Safety requirements.

CALIFORNIA STREET TOURING (CST):
Vehicles eligible for CST must comply with the rules of CSM, with the exception that all of the
tires mounted on the car must have a TREADWEAR number of 140 or higher molded by the
manufacturer on the sidewall.

Hey guys, need some help classing my cars...

2008 Audi RS4, all it has are Stasis Coilovers and oem size 255/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sports. From reading through the rule book it looks like it would either fit into BS or ESP. Just not sure if the suspension throws it into a more difficult class.

2001 Audi S4, also only has Stasis Coilovers but only 225 section width Toyo Proxes. Will the aftermarket suspension put me into STU?

I don't know what class my car will fall in to.. hopefully someone can help...

2005 350z. mods are:

intake
cat-back exhaust
coilovers
camber arms (front and rear)
upgraded sway bar (front and rear)
18x9.5 wheels with 265/35 Federal 595 RSR
stillen front splitter

Sounds like STU. I wouldn't worry too much about classification if this is your first run with us. Sign up for Novice, then select the STU modifier. That way you'll be classed against other novices. Also on this forum, since a lot of us know each other, it is a good idea to actually use your real name for the forum. It makes it easier to communicate.

Would this intake duct cause a bump out of STU?
