Hi there,

Just getting a start on Solo and need to properly class my car.

I believe its in the ASP class but not sure and would appreciate any help with the classing.

It is a 2009 Porsche Turbo coupe...stock engine..following enhancements are PSS9, Hossier R6 tires.....running 315 rears with an 18inch wheel

Changin springs means ASP.

Probably ask for Tom Berry as your Instructor in next month's AX School ... he's pretty good with GT3's and Fiat 430's

ok so Heather and i are planning to share the Mazda3 (not a speed3) in SK2 next year. can she run SK2L HS NOV or is that too many indexes for the system to handle?

Too many indexes, cupcake.

HS NOV is what you want, or SK2 HS.

Too many indexes, cupcake.

HS NOV is what want, or SK2 HS.
Or NOVL HS, SK2L HS

ya, i figured it was too much. cars staying on street tires so i guess SK2L HS will do it.
oh Max, the second day after she gets her permit we're comming down to the OC for some driving lessons :mrgreen:

Area around the LA Zoo and Griffith Park and Rose Bowl are good for practice

I could use a bit of help. Ran my first Autocross last Sunday and I'm considering doing a lot more next year.

I'm pretty sure my built, turbo Yaris (rear seats removed, just about every part upgraded) would fall into SM or CSM, but also maybe CST if I keep my street tires on it (140 tread rating, read that part). Opinions on proper (or most fun, or most possible to do well in) classing?

I am told that since I've only gone out once this year (ever, actually), I could run all next season in Novice class. Is that so?

Well teh national level class for cars like yours is SMF for front wheel drive streetmod cars, but since no one runs it locally I'd run CST or one of the other local classes. It's not much fun running alone in class.

Hi ,I'm going to compete tomorrow on Jan 10 and wanted to know what class i should run. My car is classified as fs but talking to some people today at practice I could run maybe sk1 since I have street tires.So I guess my question is which is the better class to race in?

In the past couple of years there have not been many people running FS consistantly on the local level. I would suggest SK1 as long as you don't mind a bunch of competition. ;)

Because I have street tires I run in SK1 with my SS car (bone stock, including alignment), and feel I had a good day if I beet most of the other SS cars running in SK1.
If I can beat some AS, BS, and FS cars too, that is a bonus.
Typically the class is won by the smaller AS and BS cars, perhaps because of better drivers... better car prep... maybe something with the index... I do not know...

Your time gets indexed, i.e. a multiplication factor is used to equalize your time so it can be compared to the times of the competitors running SK1/SS, SK1/AS, etc, and our Sup Rules describes this:

FSP means F Street Prepared, so why would you want to run against modified cars on racing tires with a stock car on street tires?
Besides for this event, Doug Teulie and his well prepared Karmann VW Scirocco is signed up, and I am pretty sure his raw time would beat anyones raw time in SK1, and in the FSP class there is only raw times used (the FSP index is used in the overall PAX results which is a just a for fun listing).

What are the rules for CST, I'm not able to figure it out from Supp Regs?
