PAX index and how it's applied to final results

Post by Leonard Cachola »

CalClub Solo2 results for Novice, SK1, SK2, HST (on 140+ treadwear tires), and PAX are all based on the annually-updated PAX index, a study of results from Solo2 events from around the nation. It is a theoretical index to show how the same driver would perform in the cars from the various classes with the Modified (A-Mod, B-Mod, C-Mod, etc.) classes generally being the fastest and the stock classes (A-Stock, B-Stock, C-Stock, etc.) generally being the slowest.

To get your final results in Novice and PAX competition, you multiply the best time you have by the PAX index of the car in its respective class. The PAX index can be found at http://www.scca-chicago.com/solo/indexes. For local classes SK1 and SK2, an additional street tire index of .98 is applied to the results to get the final score. For HST on 140+treadwear tires, the additional street tire index of .975 is applied to the results. The lowest indexed time wins.

The math formulas for final results in these classes are as follows:

Novice and PAX
[(Best Time) x (Class Index) = (Final indexed time)]

SK1 and SK2
[(Best Time) x (Class Index) x (Street Tire index of .98) = (Final indexed time)]

HST (on 140+treadwear tires)
[(Best Time) x (Class Index) x (Street Tire index of .975) = (Final indexed time)]
