the issue of getting in was another reason i didn't want to register cause I'm pretty much the bottom of the barrel.
I would even enjoy not registering, being one of the coordinator's servants or working, and then just go nuts on the slalom or skidpad or whatever is set up.
If anyone running the practice checks this thread out, there is my offer, servant for the day

Pretty sure the point is you can't drive unless you are registered? Insurance and all. I think I might have a good chance of getting into the practice. Pretty sure if we split the entry with me you will get in. Just costs money. Better get used to that phrase...

You can drive if you don't get in the practice. Just pay the $10 insurance and you can share some of Ron's runs (provided he gets in!).

Ron has been great enough to let me try out his kart, pending fitment haha.
In a nutshell, he said I could come out to the next practice and give it a whirl but heres the issue:
I would like to work his shift as what he is doing is ridiculously nice and I don't want to run my wrx. I would love to not register, work for him and run once or twice. He did bring up having me run on the kids kart course, which maybe would be better than registering, working, etc. and running once or twice.
Anyone have any ideas as to what would work best?
edit: ron just suggested getting some area of el toro to practice, I would love that if possible.
and I think I can get that shifting down pretty well, its just a sequential, with a dirtbike clutch. but I'm not guaranteeing anything haha

Can't get around the 10 dollar sanction fee, and one of you would need to get into the practice.

My bruises just recently went away from just getting into and out of the Seat in Marshall's cart. Sideways my rib cage is about an inch too big for the gap in the seats wrap around arms.. the gap doesn't stretch open easily. Makes me sad, i'd never be able to get out of that cart if there was an emergancy.

unemployed college student (been there, well, still sort of there, lol): a kart would be a genius idea. Buy a tow hitch for your wrx & just get a small trailer. anything goes wrong w/ the kart, you can still go to school!

Also, show up at a practice and we would let you try one. (Best way to get someone hooked. )

Forget Karts ... big boys (like Robert P) run budget FFords ... $6,500 used ... what I would LOVE to get one day!

We need a few to get a class going. I think this would be a great challenge for the Berry family ... that EVO's got to be getting old.

on another note, what are my chances of fitting a kart in my wrx? like rear seats pulled, maybe getting a nice piece of wood to make a flat ground from the back of the trunk to behind the front seats?

A shifter is about 55" wide. Doesn't fit inside much but big vans and pickups. You can narrow it some by moving the rear wheels in and removing the side pods. Around 6 feet long and about 2 1/2 feet tall.

Rick - thanks for the info, I wouldn't be too worried about towing a very small trailer with my wrx, similar to what I've seen with the either white or silver evo that comes out to el toro with the kart on the back (probably someone in this thread)

I am looking to make the switch *MAYBE* one of these days to F125 as well. mainly for cost reasons.. also it would be cool to get my son a jr cart and he can race go karts with daddy. (i'm talking a few years out)
anywho, if anyone has seen me before you'd know I am 6'2" on a good day, and 280 pounds. does anyone know if fitting into a kart would be a problem with the correct seat? (do they make big boy seats that large?)
I have raced in the karts at K1 speed. I'm sure I look silly, and the extra weight would make me not compendative.... but as long as I can go fast and have fun, thats all I'll really be after at that point.
any advice?

They make big seats and they have karts with "extended porches" that move the pedals forward for taller people.
