YTD Points totals
FYI, I think the link to the YTD point totals is down or bad.
I am trying to get to it from the results page. the team link works fine.

Far as I know there aren't any year to date point totals yet, Rick said he was having some trouble with the software.

Not to mention that I haven't had access to the computers for some time now, been out of town. Looking at going to get them tomorrow (gotta find out if the motorhome is at the speedway or the Angel's) to update the software so it will be completely screwed up...er, I mean all fixed for the No$ event.Aaron Goldsmith wrote:Far as I know there aren't any year to date point totals yet, Rick said he was having some trouble with the software.

ROTFLMAO. You're right, the shirt would have to be khaki and the glasses Ray Ban cop specials for him to be a cop. The tropical shirt is the tipoff.I was thinking Station Chief La Paz, Bolivia.

Not that I expect it makes a big difference but on the "Lifetime Points" list my P# is incorrect it should be 339 (listed as 229)

Re: YTD Points totals
Thanks for letting me know. I have corrected my master file and the posted results will be corrected the next time I update them, probably at the end of the year. Not that I expect it makes a big difference but on the "Lifetime Points" list my P# is incorrect it should be 339 (listed as 229)
If anyone else notices an error, please let me know.
Thanks.

Yeah, it takes about 20 minutes of work, but you can make a spreadsheet for your class to figure out the points for you. I did it for most of the year last year for my class.Chuck Fowler wrote:Chad Stubblefield wrote:Any update on the points?

The formula for points is:
Driver’s Points = 100 – 400 ((Drivers Time – Winning Time) / Winning Time)

Re: YTD Points totals
What's the syntax to drop the lowest 1/2/3 in sum series?
Better yet, send me your file, I'll just look at it.

Re: YTD Points totals
I guess you could script that, but I just made a second sheet with drops. I haven't done it this year, Richard has won every event, I know who's winning.Michael Palero wrote:What's the syntax to drop the lowest 1/2/3 in sum series?

Re: YTD Points totals
In excel I make a couple columns to the far right and use the "smallest" formulas
example:
=small(B1:G1,1) - 1st smallest
=small(B1:G1,2) - 2nd smallest
=small(B1:G1,3) - 3rd smallest
Then add those values up and subtract from event total.
as seen far right:
example:
=small(B1:G1,1) - 1st smallest
=small(B1:G1,2) - 2nd smallest
=small(B1:G1,3) - 3rd smallest
Then add those values up and subtract from event total.
as seen far right:

Re: YTD Points totals
You can probably just put (small(B1:G1,1)) in the actual calc formulas instead of doing it externally, but it's kinda neat to see the lowest.Christine Berry wrote:In excel I make a couple columns to the far right and use the "smallest" formulas

Hmm, very true, less cells and clean. But I also try to avoid long formulas because I tend to get them wrong and then have to go troubleshooting. This way I can see which step I screwed up on.
