Brake Pads for CS Miata ?

Post by Mako Koiwai »

Should we have something "stronger" then Hawk HP+'s up front with Karen's CS Miata running 225 710's? Tim says No.

If her car has ABS use the HP+, if she does not use stock.

Yes, ABS and HP+'s ordered.

What's this about using different pads front/rear to change bias. Does that really matter with ABS?

Porterfield R4S. Tim Aro really liked them in my non-ABS car.

So what? It's still a very good compound and easy to modulate. Unless you plan on engaging the ABS every time you step on the pedal it's how the pad behaves out of the ABS that matters.

OK, but the HP+'s are already ordered and I need to convince Karen I did the right thing when she reads this! ;)

Luckily Isley has a LOT of credibility as THE Late Brake'r. :o

But I use stock pads. However, we did put the HP+ on our 10AE because we got some fade with the stockers and two drivers.

Wasn't my fault ... I was just following the oem Bilsteins ... which some else had assembled BACKWARDS!!!

Struts are off for the rebuild ... with exact measurements from MazdaSpeed on which length springs we should be using!
