Per Facebook, services delayed until late January to ensure Renee's brother can attend.
Also just received the CalClub News Blast - they are at ACS first event of the year, same weekend as we are there....and they are planning to do memorial laps.
No, Mako -- you do NOT need to supercharge your new Miata! ...cuz now it's my turn to take it to the track :)
hmmmm... it is no longer "new" -- is it time to get faster?

Will Solo people be allowed to particapate in the memorial lap at the Speedway? When will it be during the weekend?

I'll ask ... typically at lunch. A big group of us Solo'ist had fun getting to do parade laps at CA Speedway a few years ago:

We can certainly join in the Honor Lap, but it look's like it will be on Saturday, after their Practices, before their first race. Still waiting for their more exact schedule. Hopefully we can make it our Lunch break

This is what is planned for Saturday, Jan 21: Honor Lap for Renee
"First Race is about at 1:10 We will do the lap around 1:00. What generally happens is the pace car does the lap with a family member or close friend as the pace car goes around the track the flaggers do a F1 salute which means they wave all their flags at the corners at one time at the pit wall we all stand with flags and salute the car as it comes in. If cars from Solo would like to follow the pace car on the lap I think that would be kinda cool. I would like to have Renes's favorite song played over the P.A. system as this is happening. I am sure someone knows what it was! I don't think any of us could say words at this time be awful difficult.
Ceci Smith
Cal Club Office Manager"

The solo cars need to be inside the track and lined up when the pace car is ready to go out - no late comers.

Renee was THE most influential person in CSCC for me, especially when I first started.
She set the bar for high safety, fair treatment and really showed the new volunteers that their volunteerism was super appreciated.

In Renee's and Craig's honor I will be giving up my race number to a No $ member, Joy Wheaton, so she can run the combination of 7 and 77 on her car in their memorial.

Have fun lapping around together Renee and Craig!

John,
I'm not sure the speedway would appreciate it being dragged around the track on it's roof...

That goes for the Datsun too!

Renee passed on "Flipper" tag to me after my Lone Pine event.

I just saw this this morning, I'm a little in shock. As odd/scary as it seems, she was very much a mother figure to me. She will be sorely missed.
