SCCA Hard Card

The annual application for hard card lists multiple license types and the assoicated fee. One of the catagories is Solo License. I assume this referes to Solo 1 which is held on a race course, rather than us in the Solo 2 community, but I was hoping someone here could verify.

What use to be called Solo, might now be the SCCA Time Trials program ?

Well I'll give checking Solo a try.

Basically they show the following price list

Comptition License Holder $0
Race Official with 2+days worked $0
Solo Drivers License Holders $0
Other members $10

Why would you want one? Still have to get a wristband. Still have to sign site waivers. Probably have to argue with gate workers. Still have to go thru registration and tech.

Okay, it's free, but you have to submit notarized paperwork. What's the perk?

one waiver to sign, easier to not pay going into our SCCA track at Buttonwillow, no drivers license required at registration

the only perk I can think of is if you are in the East coast. Hardcard's get priority registration for ProSolos. They sell out VERY quickly out there compared to our's.

Doesn't have to be notarized; just signed by an SCCA member.

You can get a registrar's signature instead of paying a notary, true. But the card itself is not free unless you're an SCCA corner worker.
