What's with the new road course at ACS ?

I heard they were removing some barriers and planters in the parking lots up front, and now this!

Are they just giving up on that parking lot ... as a parking lot? When they built the go-kart track ... where our Solo Paddock use to be ... for the first month or two, when they still let us paddock there ... we were't allowed to park on the special black topped track surface.

There goes the neighborhood! You know how those road racers stink from wearing those fire suits all day long.

Oh, wait, these aren't road racers. Just guys in Polo shirts and Prada sunglasses. Nevermind.

Running a Solo on a "road course" requires extra stuff. Have to submit to the National Office a detailed course layout (where each cone will be) in order to control speeds since road courses are typically much faster and to address any potential issues that don't meet Solo safety standards. But it would be cool. Could do two a year, one in each direction.

If my car were ever able to run more than 10 miles again, I would be up for it.

Finally, a road course that won't damage the undercarriage of my car when I go spinning out of control.

I was there yesterday, the layout reminds me of that crazy GRA course we ran years ago in the now drag strip lot. Pavement looks nice don't know if the tents are part of it too.

I've been out to the Exotics Racing facility in Las Vegas 5 times over the last 3 years (7 sessions with 6 different cars). I think it is quite fun and I'm eager to try their track at ACS.

Here's my latest trip in the Aventador from Sept 2013

Here's the GTR Black from August 2013

Here's the 997 Turbo S from April 2013 (my favorite car there so far)

What Las Vegas track is that? Infield at the speedway?

How much were those laps?

I've instructed the Imagine Lifestyle events. They've been getting tighter and slower :-(

Exotics Racing (ER) started using the infield at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS), but the scheduling was limited due to events at the speedway... so with the cooperation and promotion of the speedway they built a track in the parking lot. The difference between LVMS and AAA appears to be that the portion of the lot at LVMS is dedicated to ER, where it appears the portion of the lot used by ER at AAA is still going to be used for large events - at least to begin with.

5 Lap packages vary in price by vehicle from $249 to $399. Extra laps can be purchased and return guests get a free lap when buying a lap package. Videos of all laps during the day can be purchased, too, for around $80.

http://www.lvms.com/experiences/exotics_racing/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.exoticsracing.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

All the cars are paddle shift and have a brake pedal on the instructors side (just in case the driver needs the assist). Other than that the cars are usually the top version of the car and the instructors I've had seem to really encourage the aggressive driving once they saw that I could handle it (Especially, my favorite, Jimmy!)

PS: My first trip was when ER was still using the LVMS infield and garage area in August 2011 - see the video the Lamborghini Gallardo 560-4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkpb21ADS9A) - the video seems slow but we were doing 100mph at the end of the straight...

i would say that you shouldn't base your opinion on the driving in my videos and to experience it for yourself instead.

hmm... looks like the driver in that ride-along video never shifted and never got out of second (first?) gear. that "red car" sounded great and there was a lot of screaming and "hair flying around". it seemed kind of like a fancy car autocross (except for the screaming) and altogether different than driving a fancy car on a track with 60+mph banked turns and a 100+mph straight.

honestly though, a ride-along high speed drift lap at a track sounds more exciting than a "hair flying around" autocross lap... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEk8Jw1vP_Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO0JLgxWKNw. but to each their own, I guess.

Is that "Dang!" for the death of the motorcyclist, or for the piles of cubic money sitting on the road pretty much trashed? I think the answer is "YES!"

A 19 year old was driving one of the Ferrari's ... back from a fuel run. What could possibly go wrong. :(

At our Imagine Lifestyle events it's only the owners that do the fuel runs

They "lost control" in a 25mph limit zone. Talk about reckless.
