Motorsports REG question?

Post by Marc Leininger »

So I need to see if someone has access to the MOTORSPORTSREG SYSTEM to see if they can make it possible for me to register using my points card number which is 411.

Its a bit frustrating to have and change it every time at the track.

THANK YOU.

You should be good now, we have to manually update this in motorsportreg. If anyone else is having this same problem, please post here and Rick or I can update motorsportreg.

I have the same problem when I register other people, it want's to give them my number.
Mark Pladson 144
Jim Whelan 122
Tom Minnich 114
John Edwards has the same problem as he can't register under his 903 number.

That's a flaw in the system. While it lets you register others, it gives them your number unless we also assign their number to you in the permanent number list which then adds them to your drop down. So anyone that wants to register other people, you need to let us know what their number is. There is some other way to allow someone else to register you by giving permission, but it only works one way. Since it allows multiple persons to be assigned the same number, that's what works.

I've added 144, 122 and 114 as perm numbers for you.

This issue with John is that he has multiple accounts in MSR and appears to randomly log into one or the other. His perm number is only assigned to one account (email starting with costamesa). I tried to merged his accounts into one, but it gives me an error (and automatically notifies MSR so they can fix it). I've added his perm number to the other account (email starting with fiat), too.

As of the last list I got from Kurt Rahn, the points chairman, number 122 and 144 are not taken. If this is an error, please email Kurt.

The one on the website has not been updated in a while. I have been requesting updates from Kurt so that I can generate the season points. The list I got from Kurt last week did not include those two numbers. If this is incorrect, we need to let Kurt know.

I did get a mail-in renewal for Jim Whelan. I could swear I entered it in, but clearly it's not there. Mark Pladson doesn't ring a bell at all.

If you are having trouble registering, it's probably because you have 4 separate MSR accounts and Kevin has two. When we assign perm numbers, who knows which one Kurt, Christine or I picked. So if you are not logged into the same account as the perm number was assigned to, you can't register with that number. This is not directed at just you, Rick, it seems many, many people have multiple accounts for some reason and don't consistently sign in to the same one. I'll try to merge your accounts, doesn't always work.

Merging not working, but it supposedly automatically notifies MSR Admin so they can look at it.

you need to talk to motorsportreg. while rick has 4 accounts only one of them is associated with his user login. the other 3 are no longer active. so the real question is why is the system creating extra copies of his account with different uuid numbers. I doubt it's something Rick is doing.
