And likely no one is a bigger expert on loud versus right than you Steve.

Follow the rules that were engineered by a committee of your peers, well in advance, and you don't have an issue. Problems start when individuals like yourself ask for concession that suits your wants.

Why don't just people follow the rules? We have all known about the change to 200tw for over a year. Plus all the people making a fuss about it are all veteran autocrossers. If you guys couldn't or wouldn't plan out your tire wear schedule its on you, imo.

It's not like you can't still participate!! There is TO and CST that accept 140tw for class.

Sean-

The tires that we will be running are coming. Maybe February. Maybe March. We're all looking at the national event schedule.

So, knowing it was coming means zip. Its about whether to buy a throw-away set of tires just to run 1, 2, or 3 local events. Should the entire STS field sit out?

Or worse. I don't mind buying a set of Dunlop Star Specs tomorrow. I have a set of wheels ready. I could have them mounted for Sunday. Do I show up with 200TW tires because I don't really care about the pocket change and tell the rest of STS that because I was willing to throw $600 away they can't compete in STS? Its local. Its short term. It's for fun. I know I'm always accused of being the asshole, but I won't do that to my friends. This really only affects the national level guys who want to run the best tire at the March and April National events. Do we tell that core bunch to run TO? Given our declining numbers and declining competition, is that the best thing for the region?

Given how these threads have gone I'm not in the mood to run locally at all. I'm signed up to be last in PAX. I'll either change it to TO or withdraw.
