Federal 595 Tires and Tire Sizing

Post by samuelbrownfield »

So in my search for reasonably priced autox tires, I came across Federal tires. Anyone have experience with these, specifically in comparison to hankook rs3? Looking at the 595 and the 595 EVO.

Also thinking about mounting 195/45/15 on 6" BBS instead of 195/50/15 to help with some acceleration.

In my reading of the rules this is legal, has anyone tried this?

I thought the good Federals were not 200TW or above?

If you're talking about street class factory rim width and offset within I think 6mm +/- is the restriction. Whatever you can fit on stock size rims is fine size wise.

RSRs are the track day bro budget tire of choice. However they aren't available in 200tw - yet. Word is they will be available in 200tw soon. RSRs are about halfway between a rt615k and a RS3....

I was thinking of the 240UTG EVO and SS 595s. At half the price of RS3s they're very attractive...

Although the RSR in 200UTG would be perfect, what's the rumor on that release?
