CA senate bill 350 - bad for car people?

Post by Mike Simanyi »

I'm torn about posting this as we're not supposed to have political discussion, but I think this is something that interests most / all of us tremendously.

Please sign the petition if you agree disagree with the proposed SB 350.

Signed it. The CARB Politburo shouldn't have carte blanche when it comes to legislation.

Signed it. Maybe we should take this offline as I was considering a gofundme for a contract to um, solve the problems represented by Mary Nichols the AQMD chief (BTW-she wants to eliminate non-electric vehicles).

While no good can come from the Bill...

The Oil companies behind the "anti" campaign's claims are entirely envisioned.

I've read the bill, none of their claims are actually in the Bill. That said... the commission is given close to carte blanche. As such the claim could become reality if the commission so choose. But to state as fact that they will, is hyperbole.

I'm not seeing the Oil companies benefit in fighting it. Supply & Demand. If the government forcibly cuts supply, demand for the remaining supply will grow, as will the price. Guarantee you, the oil companies will raise the price to the point their profit margins remain the same. And what they don't sell in CA... growing demand in China will just purchase.

I most certainly DON'T support the bill, but I did not sign. This is why you have an email address set up for spam as a safety precaution and give it away to people/orgs you do not trust or care about. Works all the time for me.
