Addition or subtraction of either the front or rear stabilizer bar is legal. The Racing Beat support block to stiffen the mount is not.

Re: "Stock", are these legal?
Incorrect, Craig. The support blocks and bolts are legal. What isn't legal is the Racing Beat sway bar brace.Craig Naylor wrote:Addition or subtraction of either the front or rear stabilizer bar is legal. The Racing Beat support block to stiffen the mount is not.
13.7 ANTI-ROLL (SWAY) BARS
A. Substitution, addition, or removal of a single anti-roll bar and supporting
hardware (brackets, endlinks, bushings, etc.) is permitted. The use
of any bushing material is permitted. A bushing may be implemented
as a bearing.
Combine with Appendix F of the rule book:
Mazda Miata Anti-Roll Bar Mounts
For the purposes of Section 13.7, the upper (flat) and lower (U-shaped)
mounting brackets for the front anti-roll bar on a Miata are both considered
to be anti-roll bar brackets

I seem to recall the AWR bracket replacement kit was also ruled legal, true?

Here is a link to the current copy of the rules:
http://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules
Might be a great way to brush up on the current rules...
Without naming names, it seems that even some of us regulars might brush up on the current rules...

Re: "Stock", are these legal?
.... The Miata has two mounting points for the sway bar, an upper flat mount, and a lower u shaped mount. This is whats refereed to in the rule book.
The rules allow you to replace those two parts.... they do not allow for you to reinforce those parts with additional parts.
The part above is in addition to those parts. Racing Beats own website specifically states the part is not legal for SCCA Autocross in street classes.
So cough all you'd like... this part is akin to a sub frame brace.
run it, don't run it... I don't care...
Take Leonard to be the authority... or the Parts manufacture... your choice.

Re: "Stock", are these legal?
The rules say you're allowed "supporting hardware". After that it becomes interpretive. I would classify the blocks as supporting hardware, because what else are they good for? You might disagree.
But note the rules go on to specifically ban lateral links between the mounts. IE, they specify the second Racing Beat part is outside the allowance. They don't mention the blocks. One might think they would specifically ban both if that's what was intended. But that's still just interpretive.
Not everything is settled by simply reading the rule book.

Re: "Stock", are these legal?
...but who cares what I or you think...
When it come to SCCA Rule book... unless it's specifically stated it;s allowed... it's not.
Again I lean on Racing Beats own disclaimer on the part....
Racing Beat would benefit financially by selling more of them... to cars in street classes. Racing Beat states the part is not legal in Street.
I don't think the answer can be any clearer than when the part manufacturer states... the part is not legal.

You aren't reading the manufacturer site right, Craig. It states that the blocks and bolts ARE legal. It's the lateral bracing that isn't. Stop misquoting a site you obviously haven't read closely enough and stating it as truth.Craig Naylor wrote:

Re: "Stock", are these legal?
Crap, mia culpa...
Leonard, apparently I was finding what I was looking for, vs. actually reading whats their now. I do have a screen shot somewhere on my computer from circa 2009, because I contacted Howard asking about the part for clarification for STS usage. In 2009 the part was illegal in Stock, but legal for ST & CSP usage.
throw more salt my way... it need it to help ingest the shoe leather.
David. sorry for creating confusion.
