CAM in California
Is the CAM "licensed and insured" rule interpreted as a genuine requirement with actual smog compliance? Or is it winked at as long as you can somehow obtain tags?

Based solely on the entries I've seen, I think a license plate seems to be the litmus test.Bill Martin wrote:Is the CAM "licensed and insured" rule interpreted as a genuine requirement with actual smog compliance? Or is it winked at as long as you can somehow obtain tags?

Re: CAM in California
From what I saw at Nats, competitors are more concerned with it not being a "racecar", specifically looking at a finished interior, lights, windows, maybe wipers.
Lexan, no charging system, gutted raw interiors were frowned upon. That said, folks have aluminum panel interiors, cages, tube chassis, and there are also some CP conversions happening now. If you are under 3,200lbs you may get placed in CAM-S.
Being the inaugural SoCal CAM event, the more the merrier. Come on out.
