New forum, how about a review of driving technique?

Post by Reijo Silvennoinen »

Here's Andy Hollis' Top Ten AutoX techniques for starters:

Ran across these at the Vancouver, BC forum links and thought it would be a good thing to share on the new forum. Anyone else got some "hot" ideas?

Here's a couple of quotes from the VCMC's (Vancouver BC) Joe Cheng and Gary Milligan (both of the AM Phantom fame - I believe one or the other won AM at SCCA Nationals every time they showed up with that car since 1995 until they sold it.):

“In competition driving we only do three things – accelerate, brake and turn. To win, we must do them with Precision, Smoothness and Control.”

-Joe Cheng, Canadian & US Autocross Champion and co-founder, VCMC

“There is only one event that matters and that is the Nationals. Everything else is practice.”

- Gary Milligan, 25 time National AutoSlalom Champion

G*d knows when we'll get it done ('though with how the economy seems to be hitting our little world, we're having a lot of time on our hands now), Tom Tanquary (Emmy winning cameraman with over 30 years experience in video production) and I are working on a one hour instructional video for autocross; please "stay tuned" for it!

Note: it'll be geared for the beginner/novice, but should have some nice things for even the more experienced driver - yes, that's right; it'll have dancing girls. ;)
