Setup questions- new to Street class

Post by Danny Castillo »

Need some help. I haven't competed since the stock class days (i.e. Hoosiers).

I'm planning to run in AS with my daily driver equipped with Falcon Azeris.

Questions:

What static alignment specs do these tires want?

What is a good starting point for tire pressure?

What are the competitive tires in this class?

Thanks in advance!!

Well, since Marshall seems to be busy, I'll chime in. I certainly don't know Corvettes like he does, but I'm guessing he'll say something along the lines of as much camber as you can get, zero toe front, and as much toe-in as you can stand in the rear.

Spoke with Sam Strano this week and got some good advice. He says the base C6 with a auto trans isn't a good starting spot because of the wheel & brakes size, final drive ratio, and the heavier trans. I'm going to see if I can trade my car for a C6 M6 with Z51 or a C5Z. If you know of a good version of either of these cars, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2004 C5 Z06 FRC 6-speed for sale.

Ping me if you decide to go that route. It's not been autocrossed, raced, or abused. It belonged to a family member who passed away.

or....... you could keep the car and run a few events with it to see if you want to make that larger commitment. One of your biggest competitors in AS so far this season is another auto tran Vette..... which did very well last season. I'm from the school of "don't spend money unless you have to.".......... so take with a grain of salt.....
