How about combining that with this?

Orrrrrr just add this to the motorhome: https://www.amazon.com/Kleinn-Air-Horns ... 1X0R7KVRD3

It would need a compressor / tank and some sort of switch(es) mounted in the motorhome to be operational. Pretty sure people would, uh, be aware of it though.

Already have one in the motorhome.

I still think this is a non-issue. We almost never are waiting for either cars or workers anymore and worker no-shows are extremely rare.

Improving PA communications would make the events better for competitors in all areas, what's going on in the group running and change over.

But then we might have Red Bull sponsored drivers jumping out of their cars.........

(FYI, our timers were originally designed for rodeo use, hence the horn to indicate the end.)

Completely agree with Rick. But if we need additional help for those in need, let's do it right.

Okay. That was fun.

(A) Wondering what George linked to, then seeing it was...

(2) EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO POST IN THE FIRST PLACE!

My humor was apparently lost. I have a feeling we don't really have a problem. Flags seem like a physical issue that doesn't really answer the question. Honestly... "What color is my group?" is the first thing I'm forgetting at an event. My phone may or may not be with me, so while an app seems interesting it still isn't going to get us flawlessly to our goal. Then again, if Axware had the ability to text registered entrants when we need them to report for work (i.e. it was an easy button to push), I'd support using the feature.

I believe we bought wireless speakers a couple years ago. Do those work? If we can extend the PA range another 150', it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

From my post on page 1 "We've tried wireless speakers and they were crap, nowhere near the claimed power. You really need something with a small generator, real amp with wireless or FM receiver, and speakers. We have the old portable amp (has one bad channel, but only need one) and extra speakers, just need another generator and a method to connect. It would fit on a small cart you roll wherever you need."

I just talked to them at the convention. It will be rolled out in first or second quarter. This is most definitely something we can easily add.
